A startup gets a lot of time for app marketing after the launch but the marketing before pre-launch is a bit of a crucial to execute. A good start always gives you a confidence with a lead in the competition.

You have to build an audience that is waiting for your app launch and trust your idea. That can be done by growing a keen interest of the users regarding your app or by conveying a positive key solution that your app is geared with.

An app can be well marketed before prelaunch by using the tactics mentioned below.

1 Use social media to connect with the target audience

Social media is a weapon used to multiply the engagement with the target audience. You need to spread an awareness of your mobile app upcoming through social networking platforms.

How?

Start with highlighting the key features of the app, organize a contest with winner giveaway announcement, bait them by rewarding gifts to first 100 users and so on. This is not just a campaign but also a kickstart of your app before launch.

Talking about social media sites, representing them in a descending order as per active users- Facebook, Youtube, WeChat, QQ, Instagram, Tumblr, Qzone, twitter and so on.

2 Do ASO to its best

Most of the apps are trapped within a category of abundance which makes them slightly invisible for the users. Although some of them have the potential to shake the market, still that piece of hard work and creativity is kept unseen.

You know why?

Because they lack App Store Optimization(ASO), a set of techniques used to optimize the mobile app to spotlight its visibility in the app store search result. If they can't see, how can you expect them to download?

The moment your app is well optimized, chances of its visibility to the target customers get higher. Factors on which ASO depends are App title, Keywords, App icon, video, screenshot, and description.

3 Spice up a story in social media before release

This one is my favorite, you need to viral a small story about your mobile app on social media. This will definitely cook some curiosity in the mind of people.

It must be done just before the release date of the app. The story content can be a video, image, blog, animation etc. as the main aim is to create excitement in people towards the mobile app.

To gain public attention, post news on the press release writing and host some live sessions describing the app potential.

4 Ready your budget for mobile ad campaigns

After app release, there are numerous ad campaigns organized to enhance the app reachability.

But, you have to do homework before the launch and that's a report comprising the estimated cost budget required for ad campaigns.

Also, don't forget to analyze the platforms on which your target customers are most active. Keyword research is must for the successful campaigns.

5 Create a website and start a blog

Content attracts users, users become traffic, traffic becomes visitors, visitors become customers and finally, you end up with loads of conversions. A website is a collection of content describing your app key points that will generate conversions and downloads. One should have an idea of what all content he would share on blogs so that it can make a buzz regarding the app, this should begin during the initial phase of the mobile app development process.

By expanding your web presence with the help of website there is a possibility of building keen interest of target customers before pre-launch. Website hosting is much more simple by various CMS like Wordpress, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal and many more.

Start with keyword research and apply SEO techniques to submit to Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. As people love to read and write, post some good influencing articles to gain their trust and also, you can give them an opportunity to write their own thoughts.

Pre-launch marketing must be full of awareness so that people would wait for your app launch impatiently.
