Five ways to date online without getting bored

While there’s a lot of fun to be had with internet dating, it’s not unfair to say that it can sometimes feel a little dull and endless. All those profiles, all those faces that don’t distinguish themselves, date after date that somehow isn’t quite right…after a while, nobody could blame you for wanting to spice it up a bit. Never fear, there are ways to rescue the situation – you’ll love your dates again before you know it.

1. Plan Something You’ve Never Done Before For Every Date

Endless dinners at identikit restaurants will get dull no matter how good the company is, so mix things up a bit. Go on an adventure with someone: take a class as a first date, or go ice skating, or explore a local museum. It will give you a chance to find out a lot more about them, it will preclude a lot of the awkwardness that can arise, and you’ll find it easier to look forward to the occasion.

2. Look For People Outside Your Usual Type

Don’t hedge yourself in by only going for a certain kind of person or look and not letting yourself explore possibilities outside of that. All kinds of people are attractive in all kinds of ways – and if you’ve always thought that you could only fancy someone of a certain age range or body type you’re almost certainly wrong. Get out of your own way and try a new kind of person.

3. Open Yourself Up To New Possibilities And Relationship Styles

The above advice doesn’t need to just be about physical type, either. If you’re certain that you couldn’t be with anyone who has children, or who smokes, or who doesn’t share your Relationship Advice religious convictions, you might be missing out on something wonderful – and really, what’s the harm in giving it a go? Don’t pressure yourself into sticking with it if it’s really not going to make you happy, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it out.

4. See If You Can Find A New Dating Site To Try

It may simply be that you’ve been around the same site for too long and it’s time to move on. It’s a good idea to have a profile on more than one site anyway, so – without necessarily abandoning the site you’ve already been using – find another that you like and give it a go. You never know what might happen once you suddenly find yourself in a different dating pool, after all.

5. Remember That There Is Always More To Life

No matter how much you’d like to find someone to share your life with, your life is still worth living without them – and there will be a lot of good in it that you still haven’t explored. Don’t put your life on standstill just because you’re still single; enjoy your own company and have as much fun as you can no matter what your relationship status is. There’s more to life than being in a romantic relationship, after all.
