Around the world, most of the older people are deprived of happiness, comfortable living, better health facilities, freedom and most importantly peace of mind. There are many factors responsible for these conditions of seniors. Some old parents feel neglected by their family members while others are deprived of basic health care services and treatments. Loneliness and isolation badly affect elders as it leads to depression and hopelessness. It is one of the major causes of deaths too. Studies have shown that almost 45% of elders die soon due to prolonged poor health, disability and depression.

People who have jobs and other responsibilities find it difficult or cumbersome to look after their older parents. Since there is no one around to look after them, loneliness sets deep inside and they tend to lose their peace of mind. They often feel neglected which is yet another contributory factor for depression. All these are responsible for deteriorating their health conditions. Very few seniors have a good life with their loved ones around after retirement. In order to make their life worthwhile, in-home care for seniors play an important role now.

When asked the seniors about their choice of life after retirement, most of them preferred spending the rest of their life at their own home. They choose to stay at home as they are emotionally attached to the place. They have numerous memories attached to their home and more importantly, they feel comfortable and safe there. Many home care agencies have come up with senior home care plans. These agencies provide live-in caretaker to look after a senior’s health. A reputed home care firm stringently scans their candidates for the job of a caregiver. A live-in caregiver helps in improving the life of seniors in several ways.

Personal Care –

It is very difficult for some elderly to carry out daily activities by themselves. Live-in caregivers help them in dressing, bathing, grooming, washing, preparing meals, feeding, personal care and hygiene.

Medical care –

Health services provided by hospitals are expensive and unsatisfactory. Caregivers provided by home care agencies are trained in nursing and home care. Medical services include medication reminder, regular exercise and health check up. Home care firms also provide heart attack and Alzheimer care facilities to seniors, given that these are the most common of disorders.

Great companionship –

At old age seniors are deprived of a good companionship and caretaker. Live-in angels play both the roles at the same time. They keep them engaged in their favorite hobby and busy with social activities. These activities allow them to set their minds free and release stress.

senior home care services promote good health and longevity. A number of seniors have found peace of mind and happiness back into their life with the help of these services. Moreover, their health conditions have also seen a lot of improvement. Now they can enjoy their favorite show on television with a good companion. Most importantly, they enjoy all these services right at their home with a loved one in vicinity.
