With the release of schedule for the top, national level entrance examination like CAT, XAT, and others, students across the nation are in the state of the muddle to choose the best college for MBA degree as choosing the right college is everything. Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A): NIRF ranked the institute as the topmost college for pursuing MBA among all the colleges listed in the same category. It is also ranked number 1 in the ranking within the category of IIMs and IITs. It is the second IIM to be established after IIM Calcutta and one of the most sought-after management institutes, it currently offers following programmes:
Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Management (PGP)
Post Graduate Diploma Programme - Agri-Business Management (PGP-FABM)
Doctoral (Fellowship) Programme (FPM)
Executive Training Programme (PGPX)
ePost Graduate Program (ePGP)
The aspiring candidate must have a bachelor’s degree, with an aggregate of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Candidates applying through reserved category or category of differently abled (DA), as well as persons with disabilities (PwD) category, have some relaxation and they need an aggregate of 45% or equivalent CGPA.
Candidates awaiting their final result or going to appear for the qualifying examination of graduate degree are also eligible to apply. Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B): IIM Bangalore ranked 2nd position by NIRF 2018 ranking for the category of MBA colleges. Established in the year 1970 after IIM Calcutta and Ahmedabad respectively, it offers degree and diploma courses in Post Graduate, Doctoral, and executive training programmes. The Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) at IIMB is a full-time, two-year, residential MBA flagship programme.
Common eligibility to apply for the management course at IIMB:- A bachelor’s degree is must for admission in PGP course, an aggregate of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA for candidates applying through general category is required. Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C): The 1st IIM to be established in the year 1961 and awarded as the Institute of National Importance, IIM Calcutta ranked on 3rd position for best colleges in the category of MBA by NIRF. The institute offers a management course in Post Graduate Programme (PGP) which is equivalent to the MBA degree, and mainly consist of two specific academic programmes:
Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM): which is a two year residential, full-time program and includes courses like Accounting, Behavioral Sciences, Economics, Finance, General Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Business operations, Public policy, and Strategy.
Post Graduate Diploma in Computer aided Management (PGDCM): the course was introduced in 1994 and is alike of PGDM but focus the aspects of Information technology and its business applications.
Common eligibility to apply for the management course at IIMC:- Candidate with 50% (or equivalent CGPA) in aggregate at graduate degree, 45% for reserved and PwD category.
- Candidates whose final results are not released or candidates in the final year of graduate degree are also eligible to apply. These candidates must give a certificate from the head of the department or concerned authority, certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year or is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% depending on the category) in their last qualifying exam.
- Entrance Exam: For PGP course at IIMC, a domestic candidate should qualify Common Admission Test (CAT) and GMAT is must for international candidates.
Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L): The institute managed to grab the position of 4th most sought-after college for MBA course by the ranking of NIRF, the college was established in the year 1984 and was the fourth management institute to be established by Govt. of India, and awarded as an "Institution of Excellence" by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Apart from offering the regular two-year diploma program in management, IIM-L also offers one-year MBA program for Executives, Two year MBA program for working executives, Fellowship programs, and short-term executive programs.
Common eligibility to apply for the management course at IIM-L:- Candidate with 50% (or equivalent CGPA) in aggregate at graduate degree, 45% for reserved and PwD category from a recognized institute or University.
- Candidates awaiting the result of their last qualifying exam or is in the final year of the graduation degree course are eligible for applying for PGPM course at IIM Lucknow.
- Entrance Exam: For PGPM course at IIM Lucknow qualifying score in CAT, the national level entrance examination is the must.
Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) Bombay: The 1st IIT to make into the list and 5th college in the ranking of NIRF, for the top colleges to opt for MBA courses. IIT Bombay to fulfill its vision and realizing the need of skilled management professionals in the world established its own management institute in the year 1995 by the name of Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM). The institute offers a flagship Master of Management (M. Mgmt.) programme in courses like Accounting, Finance, Operations, HR, R&D Management, Technology Policy and Managing Technology Transfer.
Common eligibility to apply for the management course at IIT Bombay:Candidate with a Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized Institute or University with at least 60% marks (55% in case of candidates applying in reserved or PwD category) in aggregate or Equivalent CGPA.
Candidate must have a minimum of 4 years of education after 10+2.
Candidates awaiting the result of their last qualifying exam or is in the final year of the 4-year graduation degree or Master’s degree course are eligible.
Candidates having a foreign country’s nationality have to clear TOEFL or IELTS.
