It all started with the Starship technologies that actually proposed first ever autonomous delivery startup created by 2014. First ever launched in 2015 the starship was the delivery drone designed locally for carrying of goods and groceries. Initially there were fewer that actually came up with food delivery services with robots which can be Star Wars Droid couriers. But now there are more than half-dozen start up offering the best of robot services which is the part of larger trend of retail automation that involves Artificial Intelligence and robotics.   1. Marble: It is the latest San Francisco start startups joined the battle of sidewalk delivery robots. Investors include China's based giant Tencent and other individuals which are involved as self-driving startup named Cruise Automation that is General Motors acquired very recently. It work for totally autonomous delivery robots. The machine with a size of office printer, with camera LiDAR, and high resolution 3D city maps integrated that can navigate across the city sidewalk where actually pedestrians, pets etc.
  2. Nuro: It is a Silicon Valley based start up that is categorized under the super-sized delivery robots. It's size is almost about the size of golf cart. Investors from China named Banyan Capital and other one is from the top VC firm in Greylock Partners. Usual bells and whistles with standard self-driving robot have LiDAR camera and radar installed. The company is building half-dozen electric vehicle so as to carry grocery and food orders to flowers and packages as well.
  3. Startship: London based Starship technologies founded in 2014 is the better-known delivery robot company out there. The company was established by the same guys that brought to existence of Skype. The firm designed its robot that seem more like a ice coolers on wheels and it was also the inspiration for many enterprise. Customers can order via an application and which also allow them to track the delivery robot as it traverses the urban jungle of cities.
  4. Robby: It is a Silicon Valley startup that came up out of the program named Y Combinator when it was founded in 2016. With a single charge the Robby model can travel more than 20 miles. Currently in working in eight California cities.
  5. TeleRetail: The Swiss based startup founded in 2013 includes grants from European Space Agency. The tri wheeled modeled delivery robot uses computer vision, GPS and advanced sensors to navigate autonomously. They named it TechCrunch which delivers laundry or picks up groceries. The robots also deliver hot chocolate and Ricola cough drops to Swiss countryside. The company is testing its robots in Unites States that include Washington, D.C.
  6. Dispatch: It is a Bay area Start up whose investors are Andressen Horowit. The company has come up with another version of robot model named Carry. It has four compartments and can pull about 100 pounds at one time. It has cool compartment doors that are sliders up and down. It has designed with urbane algorithms and computer vision to navigate its environment.
  7. Unspervised.AI : The company has designed it altogether such as four legged contraption. It is dog sized delivery robot designed by former data scientist Lyft for delivery of curbside. Wheels are attached to end of each leg and allows robot to climb over obstacles with carry of weight up to 30 pounds of stuff. Based in Silicon Valley at the early stage and now operating from Europe.
  8. Savioke: It is a Silicon Valley startup that get robots off from the sidewalks and streets. It deliver coffee and miscellaneous items in hotels and manufacturing facilities. Founded in the year 2013 with a dozen of investors including Intel. It has also been reported the robots are currently being working in more than 70 hotels around the world. Soon it will be upgraded to detect Wi-Fi dead zones, report trash in hallways and also will mingle with guest by entertaining them with jokes.

It's hard to tell about the results at this stage which will take the lead of autonomous bot in the race. Quite a bit resistance is also observed as of robot revolution.
