Here is the classification of the ESD safe Workstaion based on the applications it’s used for.

  1. Assembly Workstation

Assembly workstation is where assembly of the final product is done, all the semi-finished components of the product are used to develop the finished product ready for the market. Thus the assembly workstation should be as ergonomic as possible so as to increase the productivity and the overall output.

  2. Calibration Workbench

Calibration is one of the most crucial tasks in any organization, as it ensures the performance and working of the product. Thus the workbench for calibration work must be well equipped with all the necessary instruments needed in the process to ensure the performance of the product.

  3. Product Innovation Worktable

Product Innovation and development is creation and subsequent introduction of a product, that is either new or an improved version of previous product. For this the workstation should be customized as per the requirement of the researcher or the scientist working on the product innovation.

  4. Research & Development, Design &Development Workbench

Research and development refers to innovative activities undertaken by corporations or governments in developing new services, products, improving existing services and products. This workbench also needs a lot of customization as like the product innovation worktable due to the R&D work that is to be done.

  5. Rework Station

Rework is the term for the refinishing operation or repair of an electronic printed circuit board (PCB) assembly, usually involving de-soldering and re-soldering of surface-mounted electronic components, or any other electronic devices. Mass processing techniques are not applicable to single device repair or replacement, and specialized manual techniques by expert personnel using appropriate equipment are required to replace defective components. Anti-static workbench is best solution for rework.

  6. Testing Workbench

Testing is the process of evaluating a system or its components with the intent to find whether it satisfies the specified requirements or not. For this operation the workstation should be ESD safe so that the static charge shouldn’t damage the product and the testing should be without any interference.

  7. Wiring Harness Worktable

A cable harness also known as a wire harness, cable assembly, wiring assembly or wiring loom, is an assembly of electrical cables or wires which transmit signals or electrical power, so for this kind of operations the workbench needed should be customized as per the application.

  8. Clean Room Workstations

A cleanroom is an environment, typically used in manufacturing of pharmaceutical products or scientific research, aerospace semiconductor engineering applications with a low level of environmental pollutants such as dust, airborne microbes, and chemical vapors. Thus to maintain the standards the workstation should have all the industrial standards specified by the auditors.
