Kitchen Renovations: Best Family-friendly Kitchen Design
Posted: Sep 18, 2018
Recently, one of the most difficult issues in family kitchen designs today is the selection of something not just trending but also it should be a renovation not of the short period of interest.
Many people spend their hand earned dollar on renovation so as to target the best kitchen trend and not a fad.
This post will help renovating mums have a full grasp of what Sydney mums have discovered to be the best design decisions you can make for your Eastern Baltic Kitchen Design and will be worth it. PS – it should be noted that this list is absolute because it has most desired ones from the neighbourhood. In order to plan the kitchen, it is very important for one to consider experiences and budgets because we all differ in them and this determines the design decisions on the long run.
1. Deep Drawers as opposed to cupboards
Deep drawers provides space that can be used. They also provide ease of access to things kept in them.
Tip: Rather than go for shelves, integrated drawers and pot drawers modernized into a closet are preferable.
2. Engineered stone bench tops
The look and feeling is beautiful. It has more resistance to wear although there is a fear of little kids smashing it with bowls and cups. Many suppliers supply this. They include; Silestone, Smartstone, Quantum, Quartz and Caesarstone just to mention a few.
3. Soft close fittings
Most loved designs actually though a personal one for me. Hafele and Hettich are reliable but Blum-fittings are one of the best.
4. Power points
Many of this should be made available. USB points are the most important. For example, I deliberate made power points available in a cupboard to change any devices and use while in the kitchen.
5. Butlers pantry with worktops for larger appliances
This consumes space but takes care of a whole lot of mess especially when one has got kids in the house. This can be used for storage of foodstuffs even in large quantity – instead of moving an extra room for storage of food. In some bigger houses, space can be used to house oven, dishwasher, microwave and even small-sized fridges.
6. Wine Storage
Smiles. This is needed because as mums, we entertain a lot of people with them.
7. Built-in pull-out rubbish and recycling bins
This is a very exciting renovation. It adds much elegance as it assures the mind of waste properly dealt with rather than accumulate. It functions beautifully and the value of it is worth it. Rather than dispose of some things into recycling bins or free stands, this inbuilt device does a good job.
8. Zip instant hot water/filtered cold water tap
This gives a variety of chilled or boiling water. This means more convenience.
9. Two Ovens
This does not only beautify the kitchen by filling spaces up but it serves as an extra one and makes cooking faster.
10. Mixer Tap with the pull-out spray hose
Spray hose are used for washing some bubbas, yes bubbas. The hose can have discreet tiny outlets of nozzles or a spring-like oozing hose. It can be used to do some hairdressing work – you can rinse your hair with it in the sink. This hose is compulsory.
11. Double Sink
This first confers the advantage of multitasking. You can soak your hard to clean dishes in one while you wash on the other. Some family dishes cannot fit into dishwasher, the second sink solves this problem.
12. Over-mount Sink
This has a sleeky appearance. It protects the stone edges. Children can damage a small part of bench-tops with cups or even mums can be by mistakes with heavy pans and pots. So, over-mount sink can be used to protect edges.
13. Check bench-tops are deep enough for appliances
Bench-top should not just be made anyhow but should be well checked if it can take appliances on them. This is because on the long run, things we planned to hide end up staying on the bench.
14. 3m Island Bench
This saves one an extra storage space in the dining area or unnecessary long bar. These drawers are at the other side in the kitchen to keep games, crafts or stationery.
15. Pull-out drawers in kickboard space
This is used for storage of flat utensils and this addition is indispensable.
16. Cupboard with vertical partitions for baking trays
Accessibility is very easy as they can be side out when needed after storage of trays.
17. Hand soap and detergent nozzle fitted into bench-top beside tap
This deals with a lot of untidiness on bench-tops. Quite impactful.
The last one …
18. Wide cutlery drawers
This is very flexible. It displays all cutlery and utensils one has all at once. This gives easy access to them too.
