Detroit is a major US Metropolis that cannot be ignored. It is the second largest city in the mid-west (after Chicago) with a metro population of 5.3 million. Contrary to popular public perception, Detroit is not an industrial wasteland with high levels of crime. In fact, many actually visiting the city have only recently discovered that it is a residential investment hive.
