Difference between TOEFL and TOEIC

The Toefl focuses on business English. It is generally a work-related English proficiency exam. The TOEIC is an acronym for the Test of English for International Communication.

There are four types of TOEIC tests:

The TOEIC is an acronym for the Test of English for International Communication Reading & Listening, Writing, Speaking, and the TOEIC Bridge.

Ways to improve your TOEIC score:

  1. Start today.
  2. Study for exactly the test you are doing.
  3. Have a plan of attack.
  4. Concentrate on the important parts.
  5. Concentrate on what you need.
  6. Revise first.
  7. Have a weekly study plan.
  8. Have a yearly study plan.
  9. Have a daily study plan.
  10. Get a job where you can use English.

The TOEFL Exam:

The TOEFL is an acronym of the Test of English as foreign language; this exam is currently the most common for non-native English speakers. The TOEFL is often a requirement at most colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada and other English-speaking countries. In addition, government agencies, licensing bodies, businesses or scholarship programs might also require the TOEFL.

The TOEFL Score:

A TOEFL score is valid for two years. After this period you will need to take another test, as it is likely that your level of language proficiency will have changed significantly. If you have taken the test more than once in two years, universities will normally only accept your latest score.

TOEFL scores are valid for 2 years after the test date and there is no limit to the number of times you can take the test, but you cannot take it more than once in a 12-day period. If you already have a test appointment, you cannot register for another test within 12 days of your existing appointment.

Most students find the TOEIC to be easier than the TOEFL. In addition, most schools will only ask you to take the Reading & Listening TOEIC.

The TOEIC can be a quicker, more affordable path to acceptance in an English-language school. This exam is also useful if you want a job in an English-language workplace after you finish your studies. There are some disadvantages as well. The TOEIC is not really designed for academic purposes, and is less available than other exams.
