Acid Cigars are one of the biggest mysteries in the cigar industry because their manufacturing process is known only to a few people who make sure the secret doesn’t go out. These are basically the non-traditional cigars that taste like citrus, white pepper, cocoa, and many more sweet or spicy aromas. What’s more catchy is that even when millions of cigars are sold throughout the world, no two cigars would taste the same. Intrigued by this entirely different breed of cigars? Let’s tell you more about them.

What’s Inside?

Though the manufacturing process of acid cigars is unknown, one thing that we are almost certain is that these are not ‘flavored,’ but ‘infused’ cigars. It means they are flavored by absorbing the aromas instead of being sprayed with a syrup. Acid cigars are wrapped in plastic and stored in a cool room for three to eight months to let flavors get inside tobacco.

The Types

Acid cigars have four lines, and every cigar has a different taste. More than 140 herbs, oils, and other botanical ingredients are used to manufacture cigars. Though no two acid cigars taste the same, they look the same. These have a medium body and produce solid ash. The four types of acid cigars are:

  • Acid blue cigars
  • Acid purple cigars
  • Acid gold cigars
  • Acid red cigars
Storing Acid Cigar

An acid cigar shouldn’t be kept with a regular cigar. If possible, don’t even store one acid cigar with another. As cigars absorb moisture from surroundings and flavors from other cigars, keeping them with others might ruin the taste. When cigars age, their resins, sugar, and oils get into the layers of tobacco. When a conventional cigar is kept with a flavored cigar, it spoils the taste.

You must keep the acid cigar sealed in its original packaging or cigar box unless you take it out to smoke. Get a good quality cigar humidor, as it absorbs the moisture. However, if you are not careful and keep the unwrapped acid cigar with a humidor, there’s a possibility that it will affect the taste of the cigar.

Wrap Up

Acid cigars are seen as a novelty by smokers. They are a rebirth of the cigar. Though they have many haters, that doesn’t seem to be affecting their popularity. If you are an experienced smoker who is looking for change-of-pace cigar, acid cigar makes the best choice. Even if you are new to smoking cigar, these are ideal for beginners.
