Brown Sugar Cafe - Great Service and Even Better Food
Posted: Sep 27, 2018
Out coming from all ethnic cuisines, Thai meals are undoubtedly my favorite, so living only a block away from Brown Sugar Cafe on Commonwealth Avenue is dangerous to say the least.
In short, this restaurant is totally fantastic. I have never were built with a subpar meal here, don't worry a bad one. From the outside, Brown Sugar Cafe will not appear to be anything special; it has a green awning and many flowerboxes, and could be mistaken for almost any other restaurant lining Comm Ave. But, never let initial appearances fool you. The interior is incredibly expansive, with plenty of tables to sit down large parties. There are several fish tanks, as well as a small bar. And for the ones that love to people watch, there are several tables seated through the windows that overlook onto Comm. Ave.
Now, on top of the more important things... the meal. As I previously mentioned, I am convinced that nothing about this menu is detrimental. For appetizers, I recommend the regular Tom Yum Goong soup; a hot and sour soup that is typically prepared with shrimp, although you can request it with chicken. I recently tried the Thai Spring Rolls, and so they were extremely light and had a nice mix of spices.
For entrees, their Pad Thai is incredibly flavorful and brimming with freshly chopped peanuts, along with the portions are large enough to bring home for lunch the very next day. Another noodle dish I recommend is the Drunken Noodle, but be warned, it is rather spicy. My favorite dish around the menu will be the Yellow Curry, which you can add the selection of meat and vegetables. For those that don't especially like spicy food, the Chinese Broccoli is a great option. The dish is very easy; the selection of meat and tons of fresh Chinese broccoli, all served in a very light ginger soy sauce and your choice of rice.
The service at Brown Sugar Cafe further raises the experience. The food happens quickly, making the restaurant the right destination to grab lunch in lieu of take out. The servers are very attentive, and are thrilled to make accommodations for example switching a vegetable or protein in a dish.
I went for my last birthday, as well as the experience truly took intend to a higher level. If you are looking for a fun and memorable birthday dinner- look no further. I do not wish to provide it with away, but let me say that flashing lights and disco balls may or may not are actually involved... plus an order of the fried ice cream.
