The holy city of Makkah, located in Hejazi region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a desert climate, which is characterised by extremely hot temperatures during summers and relatively bearable temperatures during winters. Usually, the daytime temperatures can be hotter even in the winter season but can drop to the level of 30-Degree Celsius at night. Although small amounts of rain are common during the period between November and January, there have been heavy rains in this region in the past that led to flooding. However, the threat of floods has been significantly reduced in recent times owing to the construction of dams.

Due to the relatively pleasant climate in Makkah during the month of February, many of the Muslims in the United Kingdom make their journey to Makkah in order to perform their Umrah. The packages for Umrah February month brings for all these prospective pilgrims is offered by the tour operators or travel companies based in different parts of the country that specialise in the Islamic religious tours. Upon booking these packages well in advance, they can have greater savings that can be utilised during their time spent in Makkah after their Umrah for buying souvenirs and visiting some important sites in the holy city.

One of these revered places that UK Muslims can visit with the help of their February Umrah packages is Jabal al-Noor, which is a mountain located near the holy city in the Hejazi region. It is of utmost importance to Muslims around the world, as this is the place where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had received the first revelation of Holy Quran from Archangel Jibreel (A.S). The mountain also houses the 'Cave of Hira', where he had spent a considerable amount of time in deep contemplation and later received the first revelation. It is owing to this reason that the mountain is referred to as the 'Hill of Illumination' or the 'Mountain of Light'.

Another important place worth visiting for Muslims of the UK after performing their Umrah in February is the 'Mosque of the Jinn' or 'Masjid al-Jinn'. The word 'Jinn' is an Arabic term for genies. Masjid al-Jinn is one of the oldest mosques in Makkah and is visited by many individuals exploring the holy city. This mosque was built at the spot where a group of genies had gathered to hear Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) recite a portion of the Holy Quran after sunset. He met with the leaders of this group of genies and accepted their oath of allegiance to him.

Pilgrims from the UK can also visit another sacred mountain located on the eastern frontier of Makkah known as Abu Qubais. This mountain was called by the name al-Amin when the region was inhabited by pagan Arabs. It was also believed to have been the dwelling place of the first of men who were also buried at this place after their death. On their demand, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had shown them the miracle of the splitting of the moon at this particular place.
