Are you thinking of driving your own vehicle in Ontario?

So, here is the guide to licensing system in Ontario to follow:

The licensing system in Ontario consists of three levels – 1) G1 license level, 2) G2 license level and 3) G license level.

Let’s discuss each licensing level to get clearer perspective and understanding:

  • G1 License level:

To qualify for G1 license level, you should be at least 16 years old and medically fit.

At this stage, you do not need any sort of appointment, and all you have got to provide is original proof of legal name, date of birth and signature, and then a sort of vision test to pass.

In addition to everything, there’s another task to complete. It would be a written knowledge test of traffic rules and signals.

  • G2 license level:

It is a next licensing level after G1 license test and procedure cleared.

Here, you are required to clear a driving test that would consist of basic driving skills, and this level would last minimum up to 12 months.

  • G license level:

Since, it is the final licensing level that would deal directly with your advanced driving skills. You will also be required to take your own vehicle and pass a driving test.
