Pearson's PTE exam has quickly become the standard for English language proficiency. More students take this exam for migrating to Australia than any other. According to Alice Smith from Sure Way English PTE Academic this trend is likely to continue in future.

Several students struggle with Reading in PTE. It is a skill that takes significant time to improve. This is why most students just give up or rely on random methods.

In this article, you will learn some solid tricks for PTE Reading Multiple Choice Single Answer Questions.

The first thing to remember is to use logic. If an option seems too out there, then most likely it is wrong. Pearson will never put a very illogical option as the correct choice. So, even if you can't do anything else, use your logic and eliminate wrong answers, the ones that seem too difficult to be true.

Make sure you read all the options before selecting your final choice. Sometimes, you will not be able to make this decision till you have had a careful read of all the available options. If you are in a hurry, this is a mistake you will make again and again.

Don't read the passage in the PTE Multiple choice question first! This might sound strange, but you should first read the question, then the options and only after that should you read the article. Otherwise you will simply end up wasting a lot of time. If you read the question first, it will guide your reading effort in the right direction.

Don't do dumb reading! You should always read with a purpose. The purpose is to find a particular information or confirm your understanding. Therefore brush up on your skimming and scanning skills for PTE Reading. These techniques will save you a lot of time and effort in the exam. Please check out for some good resources on the Internet to learn these reading techniques.

Learn to make smart guesses! You should always make an educated guess, even when there is no negative marking. If the question seems too difficult, just don't give up on it. Instead spend some time understanding the question, all options and then make a smart guess. This can often lead to a difference of 5 points in the exam.

Don’t spend more than 3 minutes on any one question. Sometimes, test takers spend so much time on one question that they just miss all others. As you know the PTE Reading section has only an overall time limit, so it is easy to end up spending too much time on one question. When you are preparing for PTE Academic, try to understand how much time you should spend on each question. This will come in very handy in the exam.

Final trick! Only base your answer on what is written in the passage. Do not use your judgement or logic, even if the options seem wrong. Remember, this is not a test of your general knowledge. So just stick to what is written in the passage.

If you keep all of these tips and tricks in mind, there is no doubt you will find these PTE Reading Multiple choice questions much easier.
