Amanda Mansell is one of the exclusive jewellery designers hand-picked by the F and L Designer Guide team to feature in its online publication. Chosen for her unique designs, her innovative style and her dedication to her craft, F and L Designer Guides are proud to have her on board.

About Amanda Mansell

Amanda Mansell’s designs are quintessentially British, and she prides herself on their simple and solid features. Every collection emphasises strength and stature and yet has an elegance and fluidity that creates a soft and appealing look. One of her designs that is a firm favourite with the F and L Designer Guides’ team is the Stack Ring Combination. This idea of mixing and matching means that this concept suits many different people. The different textures, colours, metals and stones used can all be combined in different ways, depending on what you want from a ring.

Her quirky designs seem to ooze energy, and this is reflected in the artist herself. Amanda Mansell has been involved in many projects through her career, but her most significant one to date was the writing of her book, Adorn. The book is a fine example of a jeweller’s passion for contemporary jewellery, and throughout the book she takes the reader on a journey to inspire them to create or design their own jewellery. There are over two hundred current designers featured in the book, hailing from all over the world.

Amanda Mansell is and always has been very involved with spreading the word about her craft. She wants to share her skills, educate people and help jewellery graduates get started in the world of bespoke design. Last year she was offered the Fine Jewellery Technician position at the Royal College of Art in London, and she is said to have been delighted. Working with young people who have a passion she can relate to and an enthusiasm for their new skills is what Amanda loves. She wants to work closely with the students, help and advise them, and encourage them to realise their dreams using both modern and traditional jewellery-making methods. She said, "This is a great honour and an opportunity not to be missed! I graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1997, and it is wonderful to now be working there and passing on the knowledge and experiences I've gained since then."

You may wonder how she will have the time for her own work if she is so involved in the college, but rest assured, Amanda Mansell has plenty of time to continue working in her workshop and creating her stunning bespoke deigns that her name has become so synonymous with.
