Bone tumours are formed by the uncontrolled division of cells that get accumulated on the bone tissue and lead to the formation of lumps or masses. Such tumours can either be malignant (cancerous) or non-malignant ( benign or non-cancerous). We all know the risk associated with malignant or cancerous tumours. These are life-threatening and need immediate medical treatment. Benign tumours, on the other hand, are not considered to be a matter of concern as these are non-cancerous and don't pose a serious threat to the patient's life. In fact, a majority of people opting for bone marrow treatment in India were found to be suffering from malignant bone tumours. BMT surgeons in Delhi do not usually recommend immediate surgical intervention for benign tumours which is very important in the case of malignant tumours.

As per the leading BMT surgeons in Delhi, benign tumours can also be life-threatening if the growth presses on nearby blood vessels. In such cases, immediate surgical removal of a tumour is required. The procedure is offered by the leading hospital for Bone marrow treatment in India.

The fact that benign bone tumours are not as dangerous as malignant tumours also lies in the fact that unlike malignant tumours, benign tumours do not show metastasis. Metastasis is the process by which abnormal cells from the primary areas of tumour formation spread to various other organs via the blood channels. Cancerous cells that lead to the formation of malignant tumours have a very high tendency of spreading through metastasis and triggering metastatic cancer. However, benign tumours do not have any such tendency. They may continue to grow at one definitely place and stop growing after some time. In the case of large tumours, surgical intervention may be required to remove it. However smaller tumours can be left as they are. One of the major reasons to undergo surgical treatment for benign tumours is that large tumours can severely affect your physical appearance and lead to various deformities.

After the surgical removal of a malignant tumour, the patient requires chemotherapy and Radiation therapy to kill all the remaining cancerous cells however no such therapy is required in case of benign tumours.
