What is Stainless steel round bar?

Stainless steel round bar is made up of stainless steel which contains chromium and it contains chromium it is extremely resistant to corrosion. There are some other grades of stainless steel those are having high alloy content which is an added benefit and are highly resistant to acids, chlorine and alkaline solutions. Round bar is often termed as bright bar or solid bar. They are generally manufactured by using either cold finish or hot finish process. They are available in different diameters and thus can be used in several applications easily. The standard length for most size of round bars is 12" to 14" and lengths are available up-to 20".

Grades of stainless steel round bar:

There are several grades of stainless steel which are being used for manufacturing round bars which are listed below-

1. Grade 303-This is known as the best grade for machining and highly in demand where extensive machining is there.
2. Grade 304-It is the standard 18"/8" stainless steel.Moreover it has very good forming and welding characteristics.
3. Grade 304L-It is the low carbon version grade.
4. Grade 316-After 304, this one is the most demanded one amongst the austenitic stainless steel. It is standard molybdenum containing stainless steel and thus it’s having high corrosion resistance than 304 grade
5. Grade 420-It contains 12 % chromium and it can be hardened by quench and temper heat treatment. It offers best corrosion resistance when it is hardened.
6. Grade 431-It has very good tensile and torque strength making it perfect for shafting and bolt applications. It is a nickel based grade and offers best corrosion resistance properties.

Other grades are 201a, 201b, 201c, 202, 204cu etc.

Diameter-Approximately ranges from 2mm to 12mm (1/8" to 1/2")

6mm to 40mm (1/4" to 11/2")

Tolerance: ASTM A 484 H7, h8, h9 (Din671)

Length: Length is customized as per requirements and minimum length is up-to 7mtrs.
