‘Glamping’ With A Ferguson Travel Tv: Do The Two Things Mix?

In recent years, a seemingly new form of camping has become known to travellers – albeit, it isn’t all that new at all. We’re referring, of course, to ‘glamping’, which is a portmanteau of ‘glamour’ and ‘camping’. The word itself was only used in the UK for the first time in 2005 and added to the Oxford English Dictionary just over a decade later, but let’s be honest – opulent approaches to camping had existed long before that.

Back in the 16th century, for instance, the Scottish Earl of Atholl ensured that King James V and his mother would benefit from the most luxurious experience on their visit to the Highlands, pitching lavish tents and filling them with the provisions that one would have ordinarily expected from a palace.

But with today’s ever-advancing technology, there’s even greater scope to elevate camping to a Jetsons-esque level of glamour and sophistication. This recently came to our minds here at Ferguson when reading a news story on the New Atlas website, about the display of Bürstner’s Harmony 3 concept caravan at this year’s Düsseldorf Caravan Salon.

Just how refined can glamping get? The answer is: very

As explained in the New Atlas story, the concept camping trailer showcased so many of the features, fixtures and fittings that even your house might lack. It may look conventional enough on the outside, but on the inside, the occupant is treated to the likes of hanging lamps casting soft light upon a removable dining table, rustic stone-look walls, an induction cook-top, a built-in coffeemaker and a transparent wine case.

With the Harmony 3’s spacious open-plan living room also incorporating such touches as a large couch, a coffee table, a queen bed that drops from the ceiling and a TFT display that works as both a TV and a digital picture frame, we thought to ourselves: would it possible to introduce some of this sophistication into your own caravan for a truly 21st-century glamping experience?

The answer is... yes! You don’t have to wait for the Harmony 3 to be put into production for real to be able to take advantage of the highest standard of luxury and entertainment aboard your caravan. That’s because we have many a great Travel Tv for you to choose from in our extensive selection here at Ferguson, including the likes of HD-ready LED 12-volt TVs, battery-operated TVs and Android Smart TVs, with big discounts also often available.
