All about the popular part-time programme of IIM Kozhikode

Started with the batch of just 42 students, Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode came into existence in the year 1997 and since then the institute has shown the tremendous growth academically and is one of the fastest growing management institutes of the country. One of the prominent reason for its increased popularity can be the versatility of programmes is offered including executive management programmes and doctoral programme in management.

One of the most popular programmes of the IIM Kozhikode is Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) which is a very feasible option for working professionals who want to have a management degree and enrich their skills. IIM-K in the year 2001 introduced a management degree module for working professionals to meet the needs of trained management executives in the industries. Introduction of EMEP is a golden chapter in the history of IIMK academics and at present, the institute is a pioneer name in the field of management education by coextensive interactive learning mode (IL) in the Pacific Asia Region. The candidate can choose the classroom centers in their own cities.

About EPGP from IIMK:

The Executive Postgraduate Programme is a 2-year interactive learning programme for a postgraduate diploma. The programme is recognized by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and is equivalent to MBA Degree. The course which includes around 800 classroom hours is for the working professional and executives who wish to have MBA degree and learn advanced skills to benefit their organizations. Since its commencement, the programme has benefitted more than 1000 executives.

Schedule of EPGP from IIMK:

As the programme is designed especially for the working executives, the flexibility of time was taken most into consideration while designing the programme and generally 3 classes are conducted in a week, each class is of 3 hours. The candidate can choose any of the 3 classes as mentioned below depending upon the convenience:

• Monday, Tuesday and Friday- 6:45 pm to 9:45 pm
• Saturday- 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm or 6:45 pm to 9:45 pm
• Sunday- 9:00 am to 12:00 pm or 03:30 pm to 6:30 pm

It is important to note that the mentioned time may change depending on the notifications released by the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode.

Who can apply for EPGP from IIMK:

• Candidates applying for the programme must have a bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from any university recognized by the University Grant Commission.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience is mandatory to apply for the course.

Fee of EPGP from IIMK:

Aspirants to apply for the programme needs to pay the nonrefundable application fee of Rs. 2,300. The course fee to complete the programme is Rs. 7, 50, 000 which can be paid in 6 equal installments.

Aspirants need to visit the official website to apply for the course and provide the required information to get the application number on the registered email id.

In the next step, the candidate needs to pay the application fee through online payment mode to complete the application process.

Candidate needs to bring the application form along with original academic certificates and experience records at the time of EMAT examination and interview.

What is EMAT?

The Executive Management Aptitude Test (EMAT) is the entrance examination conducted to evaluate the basic logic, verbal ability and numerical issues of the candidate needed for completion of the EPGP successfully. Candidates applying for the said programme needs to appear and qualify EMAT conducted on specific dates and centers. The entrance examination is conducted by IIMK and qualifying candidates will be called for interview.
