Actress to Attorney: The Life of Kelly Hyman

You might know Kelly Hyman the actress, but she is also an accomplished lawyer whose practice is focused on consumer class action lawsuits and mass tort litigation. She has represented many individuals in individual actions and claims filed in federal and state courts involving tobacco, bladder slings, water contamination, and transvaginal mesh. Kelly Hyman earned her law degree from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law. Prior to that, she earned a degree in B.A. Communications from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Attorney Kelly Hyman may have been raised in New York and Southern California, but she is a native of Florida. She was once extremely active in show business, appearing in movies, television shows, commercials, and off-Broadway plays—but that’s not all there is to this accomplished woman. While finishing her undergraduate degree, she also worked as an intern at the White House with the Office of Presidential Inquiries. Kelly Hyman has always had a clear vision of how she wanted her career to go, so she worked diligently to fulfill her dream of transitioning to law and earned a Juris Doctor degree with honors from the University of Floridain 2003.

This multi-talented attorney has always wanted to bring a positive change to the lives of her clients. She prides herself in her ability to help her clients rebuild their lives while building strong, trusting relationships with them. Attorney Kelly Hyman is also passionate about advancing the impact and influence of female lawyers in the legal community. In fact, she co-hosted the 2018 Alliance for Women Trial Lawyers Fall Conference, recently held in New Orleans. She also speaks regularly on how to engage powerfully in the courtroom using voice, body language, and improve—some of the skills she learned in her many years of working as an actress. Her dream is to unite, inspire, and empower female attorneys by helping them support each other's careers and build networks with other influential women in the legal industry.

Kelly Hyman Attorney is a member of the Florida Bar, the Federal Bar, American Association for Justice, the Colorado Bar and the D.C. Bar. She is a third-generation lawyer with a goal of helping people when they are not able to help themselves. She currently lives in Colorado with her husband. She attributes her success as a lawyer to having a plan by setting goals, having determination, and being grateful and kind.
