discriminatory thing

Scalzi is absurd about the way men are being perceived in regards to being sexist. The author outlines the benefit of the doubt that not all men are discriminates rather a few hence it is such absurd to term all men as being sexist. The purpose of getting the blog written was to provide a clear understanding of discrimination. At certain level discrimination is implanted such that one may not be aware of being sexist since the operations in the society at the same time the norms of the society gets men being sexist. However, many have opted to live away from the hostile life that they may live not taking part in discrimination. Hence the author defines four level of discrimination according to his understanding, and this highlights the way of not being sexist or homophobe.

The author comes up with four significant discrimination levels. Level one has been defined as ambient whereby discrimination is directed to an individual by the society in general. The participation in discrimination is done by a particular group either by their consent or not. The influences of the immediate persons rather the environment of habitat determines the discriminatory things that one can get involved. The level does not confine a person to the fact of avoiding discrimination rather it provides a way of understanding the particular discriminatory things that can get strongly influenced by you. Therefore, it is true that every individual is under the influence of ambient discrimination. The level two has been defined as advantageous discrimination. The level provides an appreciation that discriminations work for a person, and hence the individual takes the advantage to discriminate for the personal benefit. It is necessary to understand the effects that such discrimination poses to the victimized individuals regardless of your malicious, greedy benefits. The participation in advantageous discrimination should be at least recognized and accepted in the society (Scalzi, 1).

The level three is the argumentative discrimination that is well highlighted on the difference in the understanding of other ideas. The argumentative discrimination is a way of arguing to have direct benefits, and this goes by both supporting and defending discrimination. The level gives a clear explanation that at times such discrimination provides an argument that is driven by the rhetorical process which establishes a discussion of discrimination. The fourth level has been defined as antagonistic discrimination. The level gets an individual setting against others by the simple differences to make others less active participants in the society (Scalzi, 1).

The discussion provides an understanding of the author mind such that the author is driving towards insisting on the understanding of being sexist. The goal is towards eliminating nausea that every man is sexist and thus highlights the possible levels of discrimination for better understanding the human behavior. The author refers to those being engaging in discrimination practices as being sexist and those that operates to avoid such hostility as being a sexist. The description of the author is to some extent valid based on the description provided. It is ideal to mention that one can get involved in discriminatory things without its wish just because it is under the influence of the society. Scalzi has confined about sexism which outlines the discrimination of women majorly. Take the imagination of the discrimination that can get exhibited between the whites and blacks. The discrimination based on the difference well defines how racism can arise in such a case. Not every individual will term Ze zirself as unbiased since the understanding is a two-way traffic. Based on the experience and understanding will provide the perception.
