It is in light of these issues that the assessment of the case of trouble in the truss construction shop leads us to the conclusion that the business did not possess competent leadership. It is seen in the fact that there is a record of the employee complaints spanning over a long duration to the point of escalation where a machine injured John in the shop.Explanation of the IssueIn the assessment issue at hand, John, an employee of Truss construction shop injured his hand while pushing a large piece of wood on the table saw provided by the company. According to John, he followed all the procedures provided by the company to ensure that the employees are safe while using their machinery but still got injured, which according to him is caused by the company’s failure to maintain the machinery. Although the foreman tries to assert that the machine has been maintained as per the company protocols, corroboration of the coworkers and the safety and healthy report, the machine’s safety guard was regarded as poor and could not protect the operators. All these issues lead us to the conclusion that the company has been lacking effective leadership and that the injuries unless addressed promptly are going increase (Fisher, 2011). The additional issues of rumors that are circulating in the different Medias add the complication on the side of the management that is trying to ignore the problem.In explaining the issue, there are some element that stand out, with the main being the fact that according to the law, the occupational safety & health administration (OSHA), should be notified by all companies of any work related accidents that take place in their premises (Zhang, et al., 2013). The situation at the Truss construction shop, however, reveals that the organization and its leadership have been ignoring this requirement by law. We are informed that this is the third serious accident that has occurred in the organization and that the management has been consistently denying responsibility for any of these accidents. It is in this case that there is an assessment of the diverse guidelines under OSHA that ought to have been applied at truss shop to address the issues that affected the employees (Zhang, et al., 2013). Among these issues include the fact that it is imperative that the employer keeps an accurate record of the injuries that take place at their place of work. It is additionally imperative that the management of the organization provides the employees with training on the use of the machinery in addition to carrying periodic tests on the equipment to assess their safety and guarantee protection of the employees using the equipment. The fact that none of these issues has been indicated to have existed in the organization implies that they are at fault for failing to protect their employees adequately. Analysis of the InformationBy looking at the accessible information, it is evident that the company had been ignoring the welfare of the employees, with the fact that they had ignored the requirements stipulated by OSHA being a testament to this assertion. There is the additional issue of the healthy and safety report that indicates that maintenance on the safety guard was inadequate in offering protection for the operators in several circumstances, implying that the injuries to the employees were inevitable. There are additional issues in the case that raise issues supporting an alternative to the issues that could have led to the injuries. Among these issues is the assertion by the shop foreman that before the injury, John has been playing with the coworkers while working on the machine. Carrying out periodic tests on the machine to assess for the safety issues that could arise is central to the successful management of the injuries that are threatening the company’s reputation and consequent sales.Overall, the issue of effective leadership in an organization is central to their success as the leaders ensure that everyone feels valued and adequately facilitated to succeed in their place of work. Leaders ensure that they are conversant with all points of production in an organization, addressing the plight of the employees as a way of ensuring that they are well motivated to enhance their productivity. The situation at truss construction is different as there is the indication that the leadership has failed. There is the indication of the deplorable state of the employee’s working condition and the fact that nothing has been done even after four serious in a close succession is further testament to the assertion. Further, the fact that the shop manager has left the issues of maintenance of the company machinery to the foreman indicates a manager who is not concerned with the company production.Conclusion and RecommendationsAll in all, there is a set of issues that need to be adopted at the Truss construction shop to turn their situation around. The main solution encompasses the fact that they need a change in their management, ensuring that they have a leader who ensures the safety of their employees comes first since it is the only way the company will succeed. Further, it is imperative that there the OSHA requirements are fully integrated into the company as a way of ensuring that they avoid any issues of liability for the injuries employees suffer out of their negligence.
