shall include

The iteration based on Introduction to BI Development Process is planned to take two weeks. The first-week activity shall include understanding the documents generated by BI systems such as the financial statements, business reports, Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and other BI tools. The subtasks in the first week shall include being trained on how to analyze reports requirements as well as implementing settings and configurations that guarantee effective data and information processing. The session shall include a workshop study on how to operate and use decision support systems (DSS) to ensure effective delivering of reports and immediate solutions. The researcher shall be trained on how to generate and analyze reports using data modeling techniques, data relationships, as well as their dependencies. Researchers shall be required to write report recommendations based on findings. The facilitator during the first-week session shall be Mr. Lanus the expert in BI systems development at Mark Info Tech. The second-week session shall introduce the developing techniques such as designing and developing stored procedures, views, Excel reports, word reports, and intelligence financial report generating system. Subtasks shall include learning how to support SSRS reports. Other tasks in the session shall include performing functional and performance testing on BI systems. The session shall cover BI projects developing cycles such as designing, developing and validating reports using SQL server in SharePoint. Researchers shall be required to create and maintain reports and documentation for reports using a BI system that support Fusion Edition reporting and BI Disclosure Management. Miss. Mercy, the Enterprise Systems Developer, shall guide researcher during the second week.

ActionThrough the session guided by Mr. Lanus, I was able to understand and acquire knowledge involving generating reports using share point application which is similar to BI system. I performed various tasks such as reviewing feasibility as well as complete ad hoc querying and reporting documents as assigned by Mr. Lanus. I was capable of providing a report and extract support presentations using appropriate tool set. Through the training, I was taught how to create, generate, and maintain documentation for all reports using BI modeling, relationships, and dependency techniques. I was able to provide immediate solutions through validating report results using BI analysis. The solutions are based on requirement deliverables for accuracy. Through accuracy measuring tools, users can troubleshoot and analyze data issues within reports (H. F. Lanus, Personal Communication, January 02, 2017)During the second week Miss. Mercy trained us on how to store, manage, and control comprehensive BI systems knowledge. BI developers are required to understand database concepts and design, such as SQL data abstracting that support business needs, and SSRS BI report writing (B. T. Mercy, Personal Communication, January 04, 2017). Through the introduction session, I was involved in developing, managing and distributing business analytics resources within systems controlled by BI systems. Some activities such as intelligence support analysis based on organizational needs and initiatives were implemented. A wide range of settings and configuring techniques included testing system performance on various metrics, using key performance indicators, evaluating data integrity gaps, and analyzing future organizational strategies using BI analytical systems (B. T. Mercy, Personal Communication, January 04, 2017). During training workshops, I was capable of using information visualization BI applications within the organization levels of management.

Observations Through the session training facilitated by Miss. Mercy and Mr. Lanus, I have observed that BI technology is used for driving processes such as analyzing data and presenting actionable information to help Mark Info Tech executives, business managers and other stakeholders in making informed decisions. The BI development encompasses a wide variety of tools, applications, and methodologies that manage report definitions as well as stored procedures. I observed that with source code control platforms users could easily develop and implement BI systems using software development life cycle (SDLC). The tools embedded in the BI systems helps an organization by enabling it to collect data and information from internal and external sources. I realized that BI developers require developing BI systems that can perform analysis, run queries against the data, facilitate operations such as the creation of reports. The BI developers should configure and set systems to integrate with dashboards and data visualizations tools to make the analyzed work and results available to corporate for decision making as well as operational workers (Jiang, Zhao, Wang, & Bi, 2013).I have observed that business intelligence systems combine broad categories of data analysis applications such as ad hoc analysis tools, querying procedures, enterprise reporting as well as display systems. Others include online analytical processing (OLAP) tools, mobile BI applications, real-time BI systems, operational BI, cloud, and software as a service BI platforms, open source BI tools, collaborative BI as well as Location Intelligence (Da, 2014). The developers have to ensure proper integration of BI technology also with data visualization software that is appropriate for designing charts and other infographics. BI developer should design tools for building BI dashboards and performance scorecards. Reflection The iteration involving an introduction to BI development process went well. The studied knowledge, skills, and experience shall be applied in designing and developing BI systems for displaying and visualizing analyzed data and information (Wang, Chaudhry, & Xu, 2016). I shall develop BI systems with business metrics as well as the key performance indicators that facilitate effective and efficient decision making. The introduction to BI development process has enabled me to understand how to deal with the creation of reports, metric dashboards that provide permanent solutions Mark Info Tech company. The improved shall be accrued in production systems, operational units, and generating of standards documents. Through the entire study, I have understood division practices as well as departmental guidelines relating to BI systems development, program and project documentation, development and coding practices as well as implementation procedures (Wang, Chaudhry, & Xu, 2016). The session adequately covered the potential benefits of business intelligence programs, applications, and tools for business operations. Some of the benefits covered included accelerating and improving decision making (Ali, & Mouakket, 2011). BI systems also optimize internal business processes by enhancing better operational efficiency that promotes identifying new sources of revenues. The major advantage is the fact that it facilitates gaining of competitive advantages over business rivals. The proposed BI systems will guarantee Mark Info Tech direct ways of identifying market trends as well as spotting business problems that need to be addressed. The future studies shall concentrate on conducting a continuous analysis of BI development process to identify key areas for improvements trough use of advanced analytics, predictive analytics, data mining, statistical analysis, text mining and big data analytics (Nugroho, Zhao, Yang, Paris, & Nepal, 2017).
