Copper tubing is most customarily used for supply of hot and cold tap water, and as refrigerant line in HVAC systems. There are two fundamental forms of copper tubing, soft copper and rigid copper. Copper tubing is joined using flare connection, compression connection, or solder.

Copper pipes are used at hospitals for oxygen supply and various other medicinal gases. Copper pipe has unmatched reliability, strength, flexibility and corrosion resistance which make it ideal for a multitude of piping systems. Modern technology has effectively exploited the terrific properties of copper and copper alloys at some stage in use of tube and pipe products. Copper tube is used widely as a means of conveyance of potable water in houses and buildings. Next, to it, the second largest application of copper tubes is in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. Copper is mostly used for plumbing because of the subsequent properties:

  • proof against corrosion
  • excessive degree of heat transfer
  • Machinability and
  • intake of less refrigerant

The inherent properties of copper precisely meet the exacting wishes of the aircon industry. Product enhancement of copper tubes has taken place in reaction to requirements for accelerated working efficiency and the lessening or removal of dangerous emissions. though copper has been used considering time immemorial, the steel has were given recognition anew in its modern-day shape: light, corrosion-resistance, and power. it has been broadly utilized in every form of warmth exchanger systems for decades. The contemporary shape has advanced in reaction to the marketplace requirement and regulatory measures. as a consequence a traditional heat exchanger has been transformed into an eco-friendly, resource green and price-powerful unit.

Sunflex metal is stocking distributor of two basic types of Copper tube such as rigid copper and soft copper tube. Type L, Type DWV, Type K and Type M copper tubing are mostly used in USA and Canada. Type L copper tube is suitable to use for high pressure application, as well as for the supply of commercial water and residential water.

Copper Tube original color is yellowish red & melting point is 1083 ºC. Sunflex Metal is one of the largest copper refrigeration tubing suppliers & traders with branches in most major centres in India.

Copper piping can be found in numerous appliances, such as air conditioners and refrigerators. Whether it’s soft copper or rigid copper, or used for residential purposes or commercial construction, copper pipes are a major part of any project. However, there’s more than just one kind of copper pipe, and to do the job right, you need to know what kind of copper pipe is needed most. The three most predominant kinds of these pipes are called:

  • Type L pipe
  • Type K pipe
  • Type M pipe

Type L Copper Tubing

Copper pipe Type L is the most common variety out of the three and can be found in interior plumbing systems. Furthermore, there are two kinds available: hard copper Type L and soft copper Type L.

Type K Copper Pipe

Among the three different kinds of copper tubing, Type K possesses the thickest walls. Type K copper pipes are often found in water distribution systems, but they’re also quite commonly used in the oil industry, in heating and air systems, and even in fire protection.

Type M Copper Pipe

This is the thinnest of the three types of pipes, but also one of the most affordable. Like Type L, it comes in both soft and hard varieties. Type M copper pipes tend to be found most in vacuum systems and for distributing water throughout your home, making it a relatively popular choice for copper tubing.
