The first step to a clean bathroom is clean tiles. Not only do clean tiles look good, but they also keep harmful bacteria at bay. Clean bathroom tiles are an important aspect of home maintenance and must not be ignored. However, this doesn't have to be a difficult task! There are plenty of solutions available. Here are just a few you can use to transform your bathroom!

1. Vinegar

This is by far one of the most popular natural cleaners out there. Best of all, you probably have it in your own kitchen! Vinegar is also acidic, which prevents the growth of harmful bacteria and mold. First, sweep the floor to remove debris. Create a vinegar solution by mixing equal amounts of white vinegar and water. Apply it to the tile and wait for a few minutes. Scrub with a hard bristle brush and sponge to clean the surface. Adding rubbing alcohol or baking soda with the vinegar can improve results. However, make sure vinegar is safe for your tiles before doing so as different tiles are vulnerable to different solutions.

2. Dishwashing Detergent

Another household item, dishwashing detergent is good at cleaning numerous surfaces. Mix half a cup of white vinegar along with one tablespoon of dishwashing detergent. Make sure the solution is mixed thoroughly and apply the solution to the bathroom tile. After about five to ten minutes, clean the tile with a scrubber and wash with water.

3. Steam Cleaners

Although this method isn’t the simplest one out there, it certainly gets the job done. Steam cleaners are extremely effective in cleaning tiles and flat surfaces. As the name implies, they use a combination of steam and pressure to remove mold, dirt and other unwanted materials. If you’ve ever used a vacuum cleaner, you already know how to use a steam cleaner. Check out Steam Insider for one of the best on the market! Another advantage of this method is that these machines do not use any chemicals at all, and as such are 100% safe. Just add water!

4. Baking Soda

You may have the ingredients to clean bathroom tiles right in your kitchen! Out of these, baking soda is extremely useful. Baking soda can typically be useful for light stains and dust. Just mix a small amount of baking soda and water to make an excellent cleaning solution! Use a sponge or brush to spread the paste evenly over the tile. After that, wipe away the paste using a cloth. Baking soda also works extremely useful against grout.

5. Borax

This method is similar to the one above. Borax is incredibly effective at cleaning grout. Borax has a wide range of uses, including as a disinfectant. Mix about 3 tablespoons of borax and warm water. Dip a soft sponge into the solution and scrub the required area. You’ll be surprised how effective this is! You can even use the substance to keep pests away.

6. Hydrogen Peroxide

You may have heard of bleach as a cleaning agent. However, bleach is extremely corrosive and can cause damage to tiles. Hydrogen peroxide is an excellent alternative with all the benefits and none of the downfalls. It restricts the growth of fungus and can remove mildew. Mix it with white flour and apply this solution to tiles. Make sure to cover the area with a covering of some sort wrapper and clean with cold water.

Clean bathroom tiles are a must in any household. There are plenty of tile cleaners available on the market. However, many of them are expensive and inadequate. Make use of the ingredients you have at home for a clean bathroom!
