Spirituality For Health:

Health is a widely discussed topic, yet the definition of health remains controversial, so does spirituality's definition. Thanks to the advancement in metaphysics, many concepts of spirituality are now proven facts by science. One thing most people agree upon is that spirituality enhances the ability to achieve ones optimal health. Lately the correlation between these two important topics have been drawing my attention more than ever.If you are someone who finds it difficult to focus or concentrate during meditation or want to know more about different kinds of meditation for health benefits read this.

Spirituality:

So what is spirituality? There are various definitions and explanations to what spirituality is, but to make it comprehensible let's look at these for now. ''Spirituality is the acceptance there is more to a person than a physical body and exploration of that non-physical (spirit/soul) part of oneself''. ''spirituality can be seen as that part of people that sees coherence, meaning, and purpose in their lives’'.

Health:

Health is commonly defined as "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."

The physical part of well-being is majorly taken care of by diet and exercises. Mental, and social well-being on the other hand is more complex and spirituality can play a major role in its improvement and maintenance.

Spirituality For Health:

Most of us have come across words such as spirituality, healing, yoga, meditation, metaphysics, universe and its laws, karma and the topic goes deeper and deeper but the question here is how exactly does spirituality benefit health. The most logical explanation I came across is that believing in a higher self not only helps one have meaning and purpose in life but also gives hope in difficult situations of life which makes dealing or coping much easier and all this helps towards mental well-being. About, social well-being when a person believes in spirituality, he/she believes that all humans including self and nature (trees, animals, etc.) are spiritual beings this promotes feeling of oneness which helps in social well-being. Moreover, various spiritual practices help with different aspect of health for example meditation is proven to reduce blood pressure, anxiety and bring mental clarity. Yoga has different forms some are excellent in promoting physical health whereas others help more with psychological well-being.

Spirituality also helps you focus on what is needed and important, in other words it helps you declutter your life. This can be in in terms of mental thoughts as well as material possessions in both cases it leads to reduced energy loss by decreasing scattered emotions, thoughts and actions. This mental clarity helps to achieve more in lesser time and with little efforts, hence improving performance which can lead to better financial situations; saved time which can be spend with family improving social well-being which contributes to overall health improvement
