Connection

Social media covers a wide range of technologies including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and many other things. Through social media, it creates social networks that enable communication among ever-widening circles of contacts and invites convergence among separate activities of email, messaging, video uploading, photos, diaries, and music.

When using the social media, it enables people to connect to information and also connect with people. The social media channels are providing more ways that we can connect with others. It is not leading us to a new and different thing that we have never seen, but it is doing it in a new interesting manner. Through the connection that social media usually enables, it makes people feel happy. Social media does make us feel better and laugh when we actively engaged (CIPR, 2012). When the social media users actively engage in social media, there is an increase in happiness and with the people we are connecting with, it is possible to spread the happiness to other people. Social media normally makes it easy for the users to find role models as it normally facilitates connection with those people that we share concerns or interests. When connecting with your role model through the social media can provide an individual with inspiration boost. The social media tend to allow an individual to maintain a social connection that would not be possible and also access information about something that would not be easy without social media. In the case of social media, a person can connect with the role model and also share information and interact with one, which can help in developing a person’s self-confidence and social skills.
