Executive diploma in human resource management

True to the spirit of the claim that the final success parameter for HRM institutes IN India is the death of the Human Resources Department, organizations increasingly appreciate the development role their managers must play in the development of employees. While many line managers have the basic impulse to develop employees, most of the time they are harmed by the lack of knowledge and professional skills that are essential to play the role of Human Resources effectively. It is also very common for managers to occupy positions in the human resources department in many organizations in India without having the appropriate professional qualifications. While experience could have been the backbone of effective performance in yesterday's corporate world, knowledge and continuous learning are the pillar of the best organizations of today.

In this context, XLRI has initiated a consolidated human resources management program in 2005. The objective of the program is to give them the opportunity to study and obtain an executive diploma in human resources management while they work, without interrupting their career.

Program objectives

  • Provide an opportunity for participants to obtain a professional qualification in human resources.
  • Provide participants with an in-depth understanding of various concepts in HR.
  • To keep abreast of the latest developments and best practices in HR.
  • Prepare the participants to lead the HR function in the operational divisions.
  • Develop a repository of experts in human resources that can lead the change in the organization.

Pedagogy program

The aforementioned objectives will be achieved through:

A useful intensive program from the point of view of corporate management.

  • 50 days of intensive learning at the XLRI campus through 5 visits.
  • Project-based courses.
  • Conference cycles.
  • Case methods.
  • Teamwork.
  • Assignments.
  • Dissertation

Duration and structure of the program

The program is 16 months long. The total number of courses is 15 (fifteen) and they are programmed from Term-I to Term V for contact classes, while Term VI for Dissertation. Each course consists of 12 sessions of 90 minutes.

Each course is designed for 100 hours with 18 contact hours in the classroom and 82 hours of individual and group comments.

In the first five terms, there will be a contact session each, which will be residential in nature. Each course will have contact sessions of 10-12 days.

There will be four sessions per day of 90 minutes each. The internal faculty will manage two courses, while a person with external resources (preferably a professional) can manage the third. The schedule can be flexible.

The courses in the program are designed to:

  • provide basic conceptual and analytical knowledge; Instill attitudes and skills required for managerial effectiveness,
  • provide participants with an in-depth understanding of various concepts in
HRM institutes IN India, the latest development and the update in the field,

  • develop an integrated vision of organizational and management functioning and an understanding of the interdependencies of subsystems,
  • create an awareness and understanding of the environmental forces that affect the behavior of management, prepare participants to direct the human resources function in the operational divisions.

Dissertation

The program incorporates a Dissertation, which will begin in the fourth term and be completed at the end of the sixth term. The participant will choose an area of interest; Work closely with the teachers' guide. Identify a problem related to human resources. It is suggested that the project be a research based on action. The project is equivalent to three one-term courses. It is suggested that the student have an internal guide of their organization for the project. However, the evaluation will be done by the XLRI faculty guide.

Evaluation, Evaluation and Certification.

The examination and evaluation required for certification will be carried out by XLRI, Jamshedpur. The professors who teach their respective courses will choose the most appropriate evaluation method for the material. The certificate will be awarded directly by XLRI, Jamshedpur. Each interested teacher will evaluate the participants. The evaluation in all the courses is continuous, varied and demanding. It emphasizes the development of personal and professional competence, as well as the acquisition of business knowledge and skills. After successfully completing all courses, participants will receive an "Executive Diploma in Human Resource Management".

Eligibility

  • Bachelor's degree (minimum of three years full-time) from a recognized university in any discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of full-time graduate work experience in managerial positions
