Every year, millions of Muslims living in different parts of the world visit the holy city of Makkah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform their Umrah. This is one of the Islamic pilgrimages that can be performed at any time of the year. The major pilgrimage of Hajj is performed in the month of Dhu al-Hijjah. Hajj is an obligation for all Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey from their place of residence to Makkah in Saudi Arabia. Umrah is not obligatory when compared to Hajj, but it is highly recommended in Islam.

The Umrah packages UK tour operators offer for Muslims residing in the country help them in making their lesser pilgrimage easy and affordable. Such packages give them the benefit of having everything, such as flights, Umrah visa, and hotel accommodation without having to arrange each of them separately. Besides, they can have a wide range of choices in packages owing to the presence of numerous tour operators or travel companies across the country. They can make detailed comparisons between these packages and choose the one that suits their budget.

Some of the prominent religious sites of Makkah can be visited by the UK pilgrims during their time spent in the holy city after performing their minor pilgrimage. The Umrah packages offered by the tour operators based in the UK give them sufficient time in the city for exploring these religious places. One of them is the Jabal al-Noor, which literally translates as the 'Mountain of Light'. Located in the Hejazi region near the holy city, this mountain is home to the 'Cave of Hira' where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had spent a considerable amount of time in deep contemplation.

Another Islamic site that the pilgrims can visit with the help of Umrah packages is Jabal al-Rahmah. This is a granite hill located to the east of the holy city in the plain of Arafat. Its name means 'Mount of Mercy' and this refers to an incident mentioned in the Islamic traditions. The first prophet Adam (peace be upon him) was forgiven by Allah for his sin at this place after his fall from heaven. The exact spot has been shown by a pillar erected for this purpose. The Islamic traditions also mention that he had reunited with Hawwah (peace be upon her) at this place.

Masjid al-Jinn or ‘Mosque of the Jinn’ is one of the oldest mosques in the holy city of Makkah and another important place worth visiting during the time spent in the city after performing Umrah. It is located near Jannat al-Mu'alla, which is a cemetery located to the north of Masjid al-Haram. The name of this mosque relates to an incident mentioned in a chapter of the Holy Quran called 'al-Jinn'. According to the incident, a group of 'jinn' or genies had given their oath of allegiance to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) after hearing his recitation of a portion from the Holy Quran.

You can save more for your journey to the holy city with cheap Umrah packages.
