CBAP Training – BABOK, The Bible of Business Analysis

Business Analysis is a practice and requires a certain level of maturity. The Certified Business Analysis Professional designation is a professional certification offered by the International Institute of Business Analysis. The CBAP certification course is one of the most prestigious designation that helps create a well-rounded business analyst.

CBAP Training includes in depth understanding of six knowledge areas explained in the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge. The knowledge areas represent areas of specific business analysis expertise and include Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring, Elicitation and Collaboration, Requirements Life Cycle Management, Strategy Analysis, Requirements Analysis and Design Definition and Solution Evaluation. In addition, the applicants gain thorough understanding of different perspectives of business analysis such as Agile, Strategic Planning, Business Intelligence, Systems Analysis, Business Process Management.

The recent developments in BABOK V 3 has widened the scope and now includes 50 techniques instead of 33 techniques as seen in the previous version. This allows applicants to learn essential components and elements in CBAP.

To earn the CBAP certification an applicant must complete a minimum of 7,500 hours of Business Analysis work experience in the last 10 years, a minimum of 900 hours completed in 4 of the 6 BABOK® Guide Knowledge Areas, for a total of at least 3,600 of the required 7,500 total, complete a minimum of 35 hours of professional development in the last 4 years, provide two references, agree to code of conduct. The CBAP exam consists of 120 multiple choice questions and must be completed in 3.5 hours. The questions asked are both scenario and case study-based.

The major knowledge domains covered by the IIBA-CBAP exam are broken down into Requirements Analysis and Design Definition (30%), Requirements Life Cycle Management (15%), Strategy Analysis (15%), Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring (14%), Solution Evaluation (14%) and Elicitation and Collaboration (12%).
