The role of human beings has changed from the preserver to the destroyer of the environment. This is due to the socio-economic and technological development that affects the human relationship with the environment. Indeed, the human beings do not consider themselves as a part of the environment in several ways. This leads to global environmental issues that affected the human life.

The global environmental issues are explained below:

Depletion of fossil fuels: Fossil fuels such as coal, hydrocarbons, natural gas and fuel oil are formed with the dead animals and plants. The burning of fossil fuels is a great source of carbon dioxide emission that leads to global warming. It also provides harm to the aquatic organisms.

Air pollution: Air pollution has affected the human life and other species in the hazardous way. The air pollution includes noise pollution, tobacco pollution, acid rain, gases of vehicles and combustion of coal. It is important for the human being to understand the harmful effect of air pollution and take preventive measures.

Land pollution: It leads to the degradation of the earth’s surface due to the poor agricultural practices, misuse of soil, mineral exploitation etc. To prevent land pollution, inorganic products such as glasses, plastic and metals should be recycled. Moreover, the government has also introduced campaigns to educate people against the consequences of littering.

Water pollution: Water pollution is caused by the physical, chemical and biological substances that degrade the water quality. It is caused by the industrial, agricultural, household and sewage waste. The individuals should think of the ways to control pollution as it affect their lives.

Global warming: Global warming is caused by the increase in the temperature of the earth’s surface. It is the outcome of human practices such as emission of greenhouse gases. The climate scientists have collected data on the factors that affect climate such as temperatures, storms, precipitation etc. The finding shows that earth’s climate has changed due to human activities.

Over-population: The population of the world is growing at an increasing rate and this has increased the pressure on the available resources. The problem is closely related with water and food crisis that leads to demographic hazards. In addition to the depletion of the resources, it has a negative impact on the growth of the economy.

Land Uses: Land problems are not just associated with the deforestation and waste disposal, but also with the inappropriate use of the land. It leads to the destruction of the environment and loss of habitat. All these factors together lead to degradation of land, soil erosion and desertification.
