The long cold winter season is over and hot fun summer season is coming, as a bounce house rental business owner, maybe it's a good time to take out your stored inflatable water slide and other water games to be prepared for children's birthday parties. I'm sure most of the inflatable water slide owners will clean and dry their units before stored them for the long winter months, but it's not a bad idea to check your inflatables before you take it to your clients. Pick a good day and set up your inflatable wet slide to check if there is any mold or damage, the last thing parents want for their child's birthday party is a moldy or damaged inflatable play structure, make sure you won't fail them!

After each use, you should follow the below steps to clean your inflatable water units to be ready for your next party.

1. Turn off the water source and detach the hose

The first step to take down an inflatable water slide is to detach the misting system. Remove the detachable hose and steel spray sprinkler. Stop the water source and keep the air blower running, the air pressure will help get the water out. Then detach the sliding lanes and climbing stair covers and the splash pool cover, clean these cover sheets separately and put them away.

2. Rinse off the entire inflatable water structure

The next step is not to roll up the inflatable, but to wash the grass and mud from the entire unit first. Use a garden hose to rinse off the unit as best as you can. Since the ground will be very muddy after hours of water fun, you don't have to clean it all especially the bottom part, all you need to do is clean the upper part as much as you can, the slide section, the steps and the outside body.

3. Get the water out of your inflatable water slide

After washing the play structure, you need to get the water out of the pool. Keep the air blower running, and unzip one of the zippers, then the inflatable structure will become soft and squishy but still with air, so that you can press one side of the pool down to let the water out. Once a majority of the water is out, you can use a sponge or a dry towel to blot out the remaining water. Then unzip a few more zippers to let the air pressure blow out the inside water before you turn the blower off.

4. Pack up your structure back to the store and dry it completely

You can't wait a few more hours at the client's party venue to air dry your inflatable water slide, so you need to take it down and roll it up and pack up the rest of your gear. Once you get back to your place, open the inflatable water unit and inflate it for air dry. Use towel to dry the puddles and velcro pieces or use, leave a zipper open and tip it so any excess humidity or water can evaporate naturally. Made sure everywhere of your entire structure is completely dry before you roll it again for storage, otherwise it can smell musty or even grow mold the next time you take it out.

Thorough Cleaning Steps

If you want to keep your inflatables look like new and leave a great impression to your clients, you need to clean it thoroughly every few months. Most of the commercial inflatable water slides are made of PVC tarpaulin which is very easy to clean, whether your structure is stained with dirt, grass or mold, it is easy to clean according to the following steps.

1. Use special cleaners when rinsing it off

Take your inflatable water slide out and set it up on a dry and clean surface to protect it from mud and grass. Use warm water and a soft mop head and special cleaners like mild dish detergent to clean the entire unit, more soap on dirty areas if needed, then hose it down to wash off the soap and debris. Air dry is the same as above.

2. Use an antiseptic spray to sterilize

After cleaning, you can spray the inflatable unit from top to bottom with an antiseptic spray such as Lysol to kill germs and prevent mold or mildew. Allow it air dry for about half an hour and then roll it up for storage. Keep in mind that it should be stored away from the sunlight to protect the colors from fading or deteriorating the material, you can also spray the 303 Protectant on it to protect it from UV rays.
