Magnificent growth with extraordinary opportunities at IIM Kozhikode

The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode is another member to the superior alliance of IIMs in India. The institute is an autonomous business school situated amidst the scenic beauty of Kerala. The establishment of IIM Kozhikode took place in the academic year of 1996. The institute was built with the approval of State Government of Kerala in collaboration with Government of India. The trail of Indian Institute of management has 20 institute across the nation and IIM Kozhikode is one of them. It was the fifth institute among 20 IIMs to be constructed.

The institute has also been approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

So, the institutes function as a platform for the students willing to pursue their career in the field of management. It provides Higher Education programs in the field of management. The motto of the institute says ‘Diligence leads to Excellence’. The primary focus of the institute is to provide quality education to the students. Besides imparting knowledge to the different segments of associations, the institute ensures better opportunities for the students. The Placement and Training cell of the institute has good collaborations with various national and multinational organizations. The alliance and the bond that the institute shares help students to enhance their skills.

There are several steps taken by the institute to offer hassle-free opportunities to its students. The institute organizes summer internship programs for the betterment of the campus crowd. The summer internship is considered to be an integral part of the PGP course at the IIM Kozhikode. Under this program, the students are trained in the field of Marketing, Finance, Organizational Behavior, and Information Technology. This helps students direct towards a business culture.

Since the institute has collaborations with many national and multinational organizations, there are various events conducted at the institute. The students are motivated to participate in these events conducted by the institute. They are recruited based on their academic performance and participation in these events.

The candidates seeking placement are required to go through an eight-month internship program, where the students are exposed to real-life scenarios. They are trained to do better in their respective fields. The placement procedure demands a lot of efforts including pre-placement presentation, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview rounds. The institute, as per the records, has witnessed a 16% increase in both the mean and the median salaries. 30% of the students are recruited by the consulting companies. The major recruiters are Amazon, Boston Consulting Group, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan etc. Besides these regular recruiters, 21 new organizations have shown interest in the recruitment procedure of IIM Kozhikode. The Chairperson of Placements at IIM Kozhikode says "We have not only seen a significant surge in the pre-placement offers but also have witnessed offers for niche roles by consulting and finance clusters. The average annual CTC has exceeded INR 20 LPA this year with a jump in the median annual CTC."
