Unlike your regular jeans and shirt, a suit is a completely different outfit. You have to give a lot of thought before buying this sophisticated clothing. Factors such as your personal style, occasion, budget and body type are considered for choosing the perfect suit.

Here are some tips that will help you pick the right suit for you -

1.The Occasion - So, where will you wear it? At a friend’s wedding, school prom, party or a formal meeting? You have to opt for an alternative based on the day and time of the event you will attend. Once you are clear with the style of suit that will go well with the occasion, you can select the accessories. Buying a suit for the first time? Browse an e-commerce store. Men's designer suits online are categorized as per the occasion.

2. Colour - The color set the mood. It can create a huge impact on the final look. There are four main shades in which designer suits for men generally come: black, blue, grey, brown. While grey is your go-to color as it can be worn in both formal as well as informal settings, navy blue is a more common choice for late-night events. If you will wear the suit on a daily basis (for eg. at an office) grey is a great choice. Black is more formal. Brown is hard to pull, it can either break or make your image.

3. The Lapel - In a shirt the corner is the main element, similarly, the lapel is a gamechanger in your jacket. The lapels are of two types: notch and peak. Notch lapel has a downward cut, which is the standard style. The peak lapel has an upward cut, it is considered formal. If you are designing a bespoke suit it’s better to select the notch lapel as you can then wear the suit everywhere. 4. Buttons - The jacket in your suit can have one or more buttons. A single-buttoned suit gives a formal look. The deepen V shape of the one-buttoned jacket reveal the inner shirt and accessories. Jackets with two buttons is a classic. Your shirt and tie are still visible and it also highlights your muscles. The three-button look is dated, only your grandpa will like to wear it!

5.Shoulders - The length of the shoulder shouldn’t cross the collarbone. The sleeve and the shoulder of your jacket if meets at the point where your arm and shoulder attached, it’s the right measurement.

6. Sleeve - The sleeves of your jacket must end just above your wrist bone. When wearing a full-shirt, half an inch of the cuff should remain out of the jacket. Along with the length of the sleeves, it’s important that it allows you to move your hand back and forth. Though you aren’t going to play cricket, you might want to raise your hand in the air ( during the hand gestures at a meeting or dancing).

7. Waist - The top portion of your pants should hug your waist. If the pants is loose, ask a tailor to alter it. Even with a belt, it’s difficult to spruce your overall look in improperly fitted pants.
