Red Robin chain restaurant is one of the companies that have embraced the social media form its networking purposes and is already reaping its fruits. The company has overcome the challenge in providing its frontline employees with a means to be heard. The company has more than 200000 employees who work in their 355 restaurants in 42 different states. The company has been using the Yammer private social network that has enabled them cut the cost of employee turnover which was a problem in the restaurant. The social network encompasses the provision of channel trough which partners, employees, as well as customers, have the ability to share data that relates to the business performance (Murthy, 2015). The majority of the employees had been invited to the platform, which was emerging as the Red Robin Yammer and played a significant role in earning their loyalty.

It was made of the restaurant managers, regional as well as corporate managers exchanging information with the staff and more importantly acting as a staff training platform. In terms of the customers, the restaurant used the social network platform to launch new menus as well as get the reaction from the customers via the same means (Abbatiello, 2014). They were able tom launch excellent burgers through their interaction with the customers on the social media via monitoring the discussions and evaluating how they alter their recipes to please the customer. As a result, the restaurants have been able to win a huge market share due to their increasing customer loyalty (Abbatiello, 2014). The organization's investors have been able to get updated information relating to the company in a timely manner via following the conversations’ on the social media. Buy assessing the impact of the feedback and discussions; they are able to make informed decisions relating to their investments (Murthy, 2015).

The meaning of the search for the purple squirrel entails the search for the perfect talent that matches a company’s dream desires in an employee’s, but that is not possible as such do not exist. The implications of the metaphor for the managers encompass the realizing that there does not exist a perfect employee but at the same time, talented employees are available. Thus, the managers have to come up with strategies to get the best talent that exists in the market before the competitors get them. It is still revenant to the not tech companies as they desire to have employees with excellent business skills, as well as customer management and leadership. Thus, since they cannot get all the characteristics they desire in any employee, they have to scout for the best talent in the market. The desire to be the best in their respective market will motivate the non-tech companies to employ diverse mechanisms in getting the talent they believe fundamental to their performance.
