Counselling process for the JEE Main

Counselling process for the JEE Main examination will be conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority. The candidates who are going to appear for the counseling would be required to register themselves on the official website of JoSAA. The official website will release the JoSAA Registration 2019 online form. The candidates who aspire for the admissions in the 100 participating institutes of the JoSAA Counselling must register for it in the given time. Joint Seat allocation authority will manage the admissions in 100 participating institutes. There are around 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs, and 23 Other GFTIs that are Participating Institutes for the counseling. The list of all the participating Institutes is mentioned here as well as the official website josaa.nic.in. The candidates who appeared in the JEE Main 2019 would have to Register themselves through the Registration.

Eligibility criteria for Josaa counseling

The candidates who are going to appear in the Josaa counseling needs to be eligible for the process. The candidates who have cleared the JEE Main 2019 or JEE Advanced 2019 will be eligible for the counseling process. If you have cleared the cut off for the JEE Advanced 2019 then only you will be eligible for the IIT admissions. Indian Institute of Technology gives admissions to only those candidates who have cleared the JEE Advanced 2019 examination. If you have cleared the JEE Main 2019 only, then you are eligible for the admissions in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. The candidates would be required to register themselves in the due time to appear for the counseling process.

Registration Process

The registration process for the JoSAA Counselling will be conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority. The candidates would be able to visit the official website of Joint Seat Allocation Authority and register themselves for the counselling procedure. Letr us see step wise what is the procedure for JoSAA Registration.

  • Visit the official website of JoSAA.
  • Click on the Candidate’s Portal.
  • Through your JEE Main login details log onto the JoSAA portal.
  • Submit all the necessary details on the Registration Forms.
  • Choose in your choices and save.

Choosing and Locking of Choices

The candidates would have to set preferences for the choices they have submitted for the counselling procedure. The choices can be changed and saved till the last date of the registration. Once the registration is completed the choices can be set. The candidates should arrange their choices based on their preference for the admission in the college.

Modification of registration

Only till the last date of registration, the candidates can go for any changes in preferences or modifications in their registration. Once the last date is passed the choices would be locked and cannot be changed. The candidates would be allotted the seats in the participating institutes based on the preferences that the candidates have saved along with the opening and closing rank of the Institute and the rank of the candidate.

Purpose of JoSAA Login?

Firstly, the candidates will have to complete the process of registration and choice filling. This is essential to participate in JoSAA counselling. Candidates will be able to register tentatively from the second week to the third week of June 2019. The login portal would be used by the candidates to register themselves for the counselling process of JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Though their credentials for JEE Main, the candidates would be able to register for the counselling process.
