The concept of battery operated automobiles was simply outstanding on paper, but had some serious loopholes. The most glaring of these was the fact that these automobiles had limited charging stations, owing to infrastructure problems; the mile/kilometer range for these automobiles was very limited (typically 60–70 miles in one charging). These and other problems presented huge hindrances for the growth of the electric powered automobile technology.
