TNPSC Exam:

In the year 1929 TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission) was established and it work under Article 315 to 323. In 1970 only it got its current name but initially it is referred as Madras Public Service Commission. TNPSC has the responsible for the recruitment of Personnel into State’s public service which mean they will recruit the eligible candidates for the department of government. TNPSC has proposed the TNPSC Exam for recruiting the candidates. This TNPSC exam is segmented into four group exams. They are Group 1 Exam, Group 2 Exam, Group 3 Exam and Group 4 Exam. Each exam will have the own number of selection process. Selection process is split into three phases, which are Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam and Interview process.

TNPSC Group 1 Exam:

Eligibility Criteria:

Age limit: 21 years to 35 years

Qualification: 10th/12th/degree

Exam pattern:

Prelims: 200 questions for 300 marks and it have 3 hrs time duration to complete the exam.

Mains: It has three papers for 300 marks. Time period to complete the exam is 3 hrs.

Interview: 120 mark for interview process.

TNPSC Group 2 Exam:

Eligibility Criteria:

Age limit: 18 years to 35 years

Qualification: Degree

Exam pattern:

Prelims: It is in degree standard, general study has 75 questions, aptitude and mental ability (S.S.L.C standard) have 25 questions and General English/Tamil has 100 questions. Total mark will be 300 marks.

Mains: It has four sessions Part – A, B, C and D which for 300 marks and it has 3 hrs time duration.

Interview: 40 marks are allotted for Interview process.

TNPSC Group 4 Exam:

Eligibility criteria:

Age limit: 18 years to 35 years

Qualification: 10th or its equivalent

Exam pattern:

Prelims: It have 75 questions for general studies, 25 questions for aptitude and mental ability and 100 questions for general English/Tamil and total mark is 300 marks. 3 hrs time duration is to finish the exam.

Syllabus for the exam:

General science, history, Indian polity, geography, civics, Indian economy, aptitude and mental ability, Indian national movement, current events
