How Can You Get Your Site’s Seo ‘match Fit’ For 2019?
Posted: Apr 09, 2019
For many of us, it may not feel as if 2018 was a year of any great change in SEO. However, organisations that provide Online Seo Services on a day in, day out basis – such as PENNInk Productions – know better. The truth is that SEO is a dynamic and ever-changing field, so the aspects of your own site’s SEO that you need to focus on in 2019 may not be the same as they were in 2018.
So, what are just some of the things that we would advise you to do as part of your site’s SEO strategy this year?
Concentrate on mobile over desktop performance
One of the biggest changes that occurred in the world of SEO during 2018 was Google’s final implementation of mobile-first indexing. This shift reflects the fact that many people search via their smartphones and tablets rather than a desktop PC these days.
However, it’s equally vital to appreciate that mobile-first indexing is not mobile-only indexing. Desktop indexing is still with us – indeed, it remains all one index. You therefore shouldn’t ignore your site’s search rankings on desktop computers altogether. Nonetheless, mobile must be a major focus of any online SEO services that you call upon over the coming 12 months.
Make sure your site’s faster than ever before
Loading speeds have long played a crucial role in how well a site fares in the search engines. However, they’re arguably even more critical now. Whereas loading times of under three seconds may have sufficed a year or so ago, now, they really do need to be immediate.
After all, if your site loads rapidly, your visitors are likely to continue browsing it for longer. The longer users stay on a site, the better its bounce rate will be, and the better a site’s bounce rate is, the higher Google tends to rank it.
Create in-depth, authoritative content
There’s a big emphasis in SEO right now on longer-form content – say, about 2,000 words apiece – concentrating on a subject that actual target customers of the website in question really care about.
Remember, too, that Google usually ranks sites that are regularly updated above those that only receive fresh content every so often. So, we’d suggest that you aim for about three or four new pieces of such in-depth content per week to truly catch Google’s eye.
Turn your best written content into visuals
More than 80% of the Internet is set to be visual in 2019, and it won’t be too long until artificial intelligence (AI) is as good as humans at interpreting images. What’s more, according to studies, people recall as much as 65% of visual information for three days, which is more than the rate of recall for a text blog.
Oh, and people even share infographics three times more than any other form of content. That shouldn’t be too surprising for anyone who’s ever encountered an infographic, as they tend to be visually attractive and quick and easy to digest. So don’t hesitate to add such content to your own site, whenever and wherever it is relevant and useful to do so.
