There are so many things you have to take care of and planning beforehand is of utmost importance. But we all know that planning for a trip can be a mammoth task.

Dubai is one such place where first timers can get lost in the glitz and glamour. The city is a mix of everything, ancient and contemporary. Right from desert safaris, grand shopping malls, exotic beaches to towering skyscrapers and ancient monuments, Dubai tourist attractions are aplenty.

Apart from planning about what to visit, there are other decisions that has to be taken before you land in Dubai as a first timer.

The following are some of the point you must keep in mind if you are travelling to Dubai for the first time.

  • Every country or place has a set of laws and etiquettes in place which the country and its people will expect its tourists to follow. Be aware of the existing laws and etiquettes that Dubai has in place before landing there. This will help you in staying out of trouble.
  • Deciding upon a place to stay on reaching a new location is a tedious task. It is always important to know about the hotels or inns that you want to stay in for the duration you are going to stay. Keep a budget for your stay and reaming within the budget as Dubai can be expensive at times and you might end up shelling more money than you planned.
  • Dubai is one of those places in the world where you get to taste cuisines from around the world. Name a dish and you will have a restaurant or café serving that. Always look out for the best restaurants that serve scrumptious food but at the same time you don’t have to spend too much.
  • Dubai sightseeing can be exhausting as there are numerous places to visit. Depending on the number of days you are planning to visit, choose the best places you want to visit, prepare an itinerary and stick to it. This way you will not end up getting confused about what to do and what not to do once you land in Dubai.
  • Dubai has a well-connected transportation system. Metro rail is cheap and well connected to all places and there is one in airport too. Getting a Nil prepaid card will provide access to Dubai's metro, bus and tram services. Also, the traditional taxi services are reasonably priced which can be used as an alternative if metro is not accessible.
  • Other tips:

  • Keep a map of Dubai in your bag so that it will help you in navigating easily.
  • Always have a prepaid SIM card that is used in Dubai for emergency purposes.
  • If Burj Khalifa is a must visit place in your itinerary, then buy tickets beforehand. Tickets are cheaper when you pre book online.
  • The best time to visit Dubai is November as it is not too cold nor too hot and you can happily hop from one place to another.
  • Always carry local currency apart from credit cards in your wallet.
  • There are beaches like Kite and JBR which provide free access to facilities. You can use them if an exotic beach resort does not fit into your budget.
