The process of Responsive Web Designing has been around for more than 2 years now. However, it is still considered by many to be a novel technology. This is not without reason. Responsive web designing is a highly fledging character and the uphill task of engaging responsiveness has no boundaries. A responsive website is never easy to make and especially with several new technology that the everyday user has already been exposed to. There has been a constant change in coding scripts, technologies and design frameworks. Here are some issues that every responsive web designer addresses at some point of time.

Making the client aware of the challenge

For the client, it is as simple as referring a sample and negotiating the payment. However, with responsive web designing, clients need to know what goes into making of the final design. While they will be open to suggestions, clients will never be comfortable with jargons like "break points" or "Media queries". It will be good if you can actually show what every small tool will bring into the interface. Clients would be unwilling to pay a few dollars for a thing they don’t understand. Show them! Visuals are always better than vocals.

Consistent navigation

An inconsistent website is like getting lost in a maze. With new technologies and increasing demands of clients, website navigation and responsiveness is getting more complex over time. However, the idea here will be to keep patient and follow a consistent design pattern throughout. The site navigation should be in tune with the design requirements and the content structure.

Visualization

Managing graphics and image in a website also results in an uneven affair. Until this day, there is no proven guideline by the W3C for responsive images. Web designers; as a result use their personal creativity ad scripts. However, the largely globalized world today has brought in a variety of portable devices and this just complicates the issue. Every icon and graphics that a web designer implements in a website needs to be highly flexible and automatically adapt to the device interface.

The changing world of technology

Considering the charm and success of responsive website, many old web platforms are getting converted into responsive ones. Mostly, web developers will resort o reverse engineering to turn the fixer layer layout into a flexible template and style sheet. However, there are multiple styling structures in use and one cannot guarantee a smooth experience. Alternatively, one can rebuild the entire website from scratch. The second option is always a better one if it involves a massive structuring. The end result isn’t just smooth but is also going to save a lot of time.

Costs

Responsive web design has the capacity to adapt itself into the access device screen and thus involve a hefty investment. However, smarter technologies today have lowered the cost to a great extent. It is necessary that a website should be passed through thorough testing process and periods before it’s launched. Clients also need to be aware that cutting back on budget can actually compromise the quality of the interface.

Responsive web designing is a combination of art, skill, knowledge and understanding human psychology and physiology. For the end user, it about the experience, but for the developer, it’s a much more complicated process. Being aware is the only way to success.
