house designs

You can find different house designs around the world, every one of them showing the features a certain category of people prefer. You will find courtyard houses in Syria, Cape Dutch houses in South Africa, rock cut architecture houses in Egypt, izbas in Russia, adobe houses in North America regions, stone cottages in Ireland, long houses in North America, thatched cottages in England, turf houses in Iceland, log houses in Northern Europe, and even yurts in Central Asia. And these house designs are not the only ones you can find around the world, there are countless examples we can offer, every one of them having unique features. However, all houses have a common characteristic they are built to make their inhabitants feel comfortable, no matter the weather conditions.

Depending on the geographic region where the house is located a certain house design is considered appropriate. If you want to find out what types of houses you can find worldwide, we will take you on a tour.

Courtyard houses in Syria

The traditional house structure model in Syria is the one of the courtyard; it is a luxury design that dates back to 3000 BC. The entire property is constructed around a central courtyard that you can access from multiple parts of the house. Nomads who installed the tents in a circular shape and left a centre space where they sheltered animals first used the concept. As the society evolved, they’ve started to build large houses, with at least 3 floors and a permanent courtyard. From the moment you will step in, you will notice the opulence of the homeowners but also the comfort the properties offer. The ground level is created to offer the inhabitants a cool place to stay during hot days, and the superior levels are designed for offering privacy.

Apartments in France

Not only houses can be included in the luxury category, but apartments can also include exclusive features. If you visit France, do not be surprised to see that rich people live in apartments. Apartments may date back to Roman times but you will see that French properties turned this communal living facility in something stylish and luxurious. Most of the French chic apartments are located in blocks constructed between 1853 and 1870, and the buildings stand out from the crowd. These living accommodations are often associated with a romantic Parisian life.

Plantation mansions in the USA

USA mansions are the true example of opulence; they have numerous bedrooms, libraries, drawing rooms, entertaining spaces, studies and other spaces that show the wealth of the homeowners. Many of them are decorated with expensive European art and furnishings imported from exotic places. These houses are typically placed in the middle of a large court and large trees are planted in the front. The plantation houses from the USA were designed to compete with European grand houses, and if you do not have the opportunity to visit one in person, you can check Beyoncé’s video, she filmed it in the Oak Alley plantation mansion.

Tudor old mansion in England

England is a unique country because it has different types of houses, all of them characteristic to a certain social group. The properties the Tudors built are some of the most elegant and sumptuous English houses. The Tudor style impressed people worldwide and many nations tried to re-create it. What is amazing about Tudor houses is that they are built through a long period, for some of them the construction period lasted even for 100 years. If you are impressed by their beauty, and you decide to buy one you can still find luxury houses for sale on the market, created in the Tudor style. You can recognise a Tudor house quite easily, the use of wood is extensive, it has wall paintings, and unglazed wardrobes with a perpendicular drop into the moat.

Castles in Prague

If you want to see how an extravagant castle looks you should buy an airplane ticket and visit Europe. Many of the extravagant chateaus of the world are found in Europe and they are built during the 17th and 18th century. They are painted in colourful colours, and have ornate and dramatic facades, similar to the Troja Palace in Prague. You can find this Baroque castle in the historical centre of Prague and even if it is no longer the house of a family, many others around the Czech Republic are. The European castles were built for counts who wanted to display their lavish life through their properties and they include large fountains, heavy furnishings, wall paintings, frescos, grand entertaining spaces, grand staircases, and well-manicured gardens.

The above examples are of luxury houses, designed for people who want to have access to exclusive properties, but the world of housing is more diverse than this.
