Not Satisfied With Your GATE 2019 Score? Guidelines For Both Low And High Scores
Posted: Apr 29, 2019
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE can help candidates get through masters and doctoral degrees in the branches of science, architecture, technology and engineering. After cracking the GATE examination, candidates can get direct admission into the above-mentioned sectors in reputed institutes like the IISC or Indian Institute of Science and in IITs or Indian Institute of Technology.
The results of GATE for the year 2019 have been declared recently. It is true that the ones who topped the GATE exam can get into reputed engineering colleges or they can even take up jobs in public sector undertakings (PSU) depending on the marks that they score. But what about those who could not make it up to that great level? Will they simply waste their year? Definitely not! There are a hell lot of options for them as well. Let’s take a look at those.
List of colleges in which you can apply
Susheel Joshi, the SVP at Gradeup, suggests that the students who have secured a low score can select engineering courses in the following colleges:
a. National Institute of Technology (NIT)
b. Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)
c. BITS Pilani
d. NITIE, Mumbai
e. Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT)
f. Delhi Technological University (DTU)
g. Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh
Study overseas
Low score does not mean your future is doomed forever. You still have good chances to study at foreign universities and secure a handsome degree there. In order to study abroad, the candidate will have to appear for examinations like GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, GMAT, and the like. These exams are all English tests that prove your skill and excellence in English so that you do not have any problem with the language once you go to a foreign country. Some of the universities that you can opt for are as follows:
a. Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
b. National University of Singapore (NUS)
c. TU Munich
d. RWTH Aachen
Some of the German Universities have made the GATE examination compulsory for the students. Direct admission is also accepted in universities like NTU and NUS. Besides foreign universities, in India too, candidates can provide their GATE score for getting admission into the IIT colleges. Then they can move on abroad by making use of their Joint Degree Programmes or Student Exchange Programmes or Twining Program.
Some of the out-of-the-box study destinations include China, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, etc. Some of the universities in Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia offer engineering courses at low rates. So, the candidates can opt for programmes like masters and PhD in these institutes.
Conclusion
Hence, if you get low score in the GATE examination that does not mean you do not have a future ahead. A lot of job opportunities are lying in front of you as well. Along with the GATE degree, you can opt for some short diploma course so that aspirants can get into a good job profile.
