With the arrival of nightmare summer, everyone needs to keep themselves cool. In this era of technology and the internet, one can have a button of climate control in one’s hand.

There are many kinds of ACs available in the market whether you need a split AC, Window AC or Portable AC. If you have made up your mind to buy one of them then this checklist of buying ac AC will prove to be helpful for you.

Size of the room:

You need to calculate the size of your room accurately. First and foremost thing, one needs to determine what is the size of the room? If you want to install the AC in 100-120 sqft, then we recommend you to go for 1-ton AC. 1 ton AC will work fine in 100 to 120 sqft room. But if space is more than the said figures you need to go for 1.5 ton or 2 ton AC. This rule also applied to the small portable Air Conditioner. But it takes a minor amount of energy.

Prefer inverter over fixed speed AC:

You should prefer inverter AC over non-inverter because inverter consumes less energy. Unlike fixed-speed ACs that runs on motors and work on high speeds and takes more power. Whereas inverters run on constant speed so the power usage is less than fixed-speed AC. Split AC has two separate units i.e. indoor and outdoor unit; the compressor unit is installed outside the house whereas the cooling unit is installed inside the room.

Installation:

You should never neglect an important aspect of AC and that is its installation. You need to properly install your AC. You need to make it sure that you get it to install from an experienced and expert professional. The performance of the AC depends on its installation. Portable AC in Pakistan is getting a lot of attention nowadays for their less energy consumption.

Cooling capacity:

Before buying an AC, you need to know about the cooling capacity of the AC. The capacity of cooling is measured in British Thermal Units per hour (BTU/hr). 1 ton is equal to approximately 12000 BTU. If BTU is higher, the cooling power will rise. But we suggest you should not buy higher BTU, as it will consume more energy result in a higher electricity bill.

Fans:

Fans speed is important to tackle. You need to check if your AC has a variable fan speed. It’s important because you use a different speed at different times.

Filters:

You can go for a deodorizing filter that removes the odor;

The second filter is electrostatic that is supposed to clear the dust particles.

The third one has anti-fungal properties that remove bacteria.

The fourth filter which is called ionization is responsible for clearing the germs and dust.

Noise level:

You should go to the ac which has a low noise level. On average, the noise of the AC ranges from 30 to 60 decibels but if you choose higher capacity ac then the decibels will be increased.

The sensitivity of thermostat:

Thermostat sensitivity determines how a unit can keep maintaining temperature accurately. It can be a positive sign for your AC.

Humidity control button:

Before choosing an AC, you need to look for the humidity control button; if it has then it would be fine. A dehumidifier reduces the humidity so you need a button to control this.
