The last winter month usually comes with plans and preparations for the next season. The day begins to grow, the winter loses its power, and we prepare the space for new colors and energies.

At the beginning of spring, the hard house needs a fresh air, brought through the spring cleaning. You'll probably spend a whole weekend washing the curtains, wiping the windows and cleaning the sofa and mattresses, usually before Easter.

Things can be even simpler than that. There are a few steps you can do earlier to ease your work and bring your spring into the house. I'll tell you about them next.

1. Replace or remove winter decorations

The seasonal décor left in the house after the winter holidays is no longer the point. Snowflakes, scarves with a scarf or snow-clad trees disappear from the house and are stored until the next winter holidays. Some useful tricks in their storage you find in the article "10 Tricks for safe storage of Christmas decorations".

These decorations can now be replaced with others, which suggest green nature. It opts in place for shades of green or taking over the shapes of the plant world, such as the Karsten wall decoration or the Edmund decorative tray.

If you like romantic décor, you can keep the tree installations, I improvised, for example, a lamp in the nursery in a larger jar, which I filled with a Christmas installation. With the weather warming, you can take out the facilities in the balcony or in the yard, in a sheltered place, where you can create a pleasant atmosphere by hanging them between the trees or by dressing a wall with them.

2. Store winter clothes

The sweaters you will need, but you can gradually renounce the very thick ones and the snow jackets, which you can already store until the next season.

If you have space such as an attic or a speaker, you can install a cabinet such as Damhus, in which it is stored and still accessible, in the event of a blizzard episode, before spring is permanently installed.

If you don't have enough space, store your sweaters, scarves and very thick gloves in large, transparent boxes-like the Topstore-series, where you insert your clothes not folded into one another, but run and put on the stand, so occupy less Space, fit more and see what's in each box more easily.

3. Replace household textiles with other, seasonal

As you store your clothes very thick, and home textiles are rotated in the seasonal report. Pillowcases knitted or fur and the wool blanket used when sitting on TV come out of season and they, textures are more suitable for winter. When the spring arrives, replace them with more thin ones, from linen, viscose or cotton.

You can go further than that, replacing the curtains, curtains and even the carpet with some thinner, floral prints or in forest shades, such as the Gotland drapery or the Selje pillowcase.

4. Sort, organize, throw

If you followed Japanese Marie Kondo, on the Netflix series, then it will be easier for you to go through this process, which extends the principles of organizing space and other areas of life. Releasing unnecessary objects gives you greater freedom not only of space but also on an emotional level. It motivates you to deal more with yourself and what you like, helping you to keep your emotional balance, with beneficial effects on all aspects of your life.

You have below a few tricks to guide you in this operation that you start in the house at the coming spring.

Arm yourself with bags and boxes in which to put the sorted objects and decide to escape, sorting them out by a few criteria: to repair (clothes, footwear, decorations), to recycle (plastic, paper, textile, glass), for donations or sale (objects in the state Good, but unnecessary), for the destroyed (not falling into the previous categories).

Take the rooms one by one and allocate time to Tria, group and organize the objects. Don't move on to the next

Apply the procedure in all areas of the house: cabinets, library, medicaments drawer, a box of invoices, freezer and refrigerator, following the same principles. Expect a process that lasts days or even weeks, but whose result is worth the effort.

Opt for online variants in the case of invoices and other documents to reduce the amount of paper consumed, but also the occupied space.

Allocate a space for "all" – a transitional area in which to temporarily leave invoices, tickets, different items for which you have short-term plans. Aim for this space to stay permanently under the counter, so that everything you put in there is only temporary.

With an effort of will, you will retain these principles in the long term, because they will increase your feeling of freedom, reducing the stress and pressure that we all feel in today's world.

5. Leave room for flowers

Vegetation is the sign of spring and the awakening of nature to life. Spring flowers appear, which can cheer up any house, filling it with fresh smell. Flowers need space and light. Make sure you find in the house the right place for them, on a windowsill or near the windows, on a table corner or on the library.

Spring plants look great in transparent pots.

If they're in a transparent bowl, you can track their growth, keep them from constantly changing their water and just keep the roots immersed, so the bulb doesn't rot.
