Located at a distance of about 508 kilometres to the south of Casablanca is the fascinating Moroccan city, Agadir. It is the capital of the Sus-Massa economic region and Agadir Ida-U-Tanan Prefecture. While exploring this city, you'll find it hard to believe that it was almost entirely destroyed by an earthquake that rocked the city in 1960. Today, after it was rebuilt according to the seismic standards, the city has become the largest seaside resort in the country visited by plenty of tourists. One of the prominent features of Agadir that draws tourists from different parts of the globe is its mild and pleasant climate.

Your cheap holidays to Agadir would give you the chance to visit its oldest district, the Kasbah. It is located on top of a hill and was built with fortifications in the 16th century. Such is the quality of the old buildings in this part of the city that they survived the massive earthquake of 1960. Most of the tourists make a trip to Kasbah for hiking and exploring the fantastic medieval Arabic architecture. The impressive views of the city that this place offers also give tourists a reason for visiting this old district.

While enjoying your Agadir holidays, you can take a break from your sightseeing trips to unwind on its renowned beach. This fabulous stretch of fine sands has a tranquil atmosphere that would instantly relax your senses. You'll also feel rejuvenated by the soothing Atlantic winds that rush past this beach throughout the year. It is clean, well-maintained, and has the presence of lifeguards during the peak summer season. Another great way to enjoy complete relaxation is to visit a hammam. Centuries ago, these public baths were places where individuals from different backgrounds would socialise besides taking their bath. Today, they give some unique experiences for tourists wanting to enjoy a rejuvenating bath.

During your cheap Agadir holidays, you can shop for some excellent souvenirs with a visit to the Souk El Had. It is a large market, where many of the city's residents arrive for shopping. The atmosphere at this place is absolutely lively and can delight your senses even if you're not interested in shopping for souvenirs or any of the items. Upon travelling a few streets behind the beach area, you can explore a small museum called 'Memoire d'Agadir'. It is located in a serene garden full of cacti and palms. Although there are no interactive exhibits in this museum, you can get some interesting insights into the city's modern history with the help of newspaper clippings and photos.

Another excellent place worth visiting is La Medina d'Agadir. It is located a few miles away from the city centre and is an open-air recreation of Agadir's former medina, which was destroyed by the earthquake. This excellent combination of a museum and work of art was created in the year 1992 using traditional Berber techniques. If you are looking for nature parks during your time spent in this part of Morocco, explore the Souss Massa National Park and Crocoparc.
