Website development as we all know, is the process of creating a bunch of web pages and placing them on the internet (a server to be exact). The entire process of creating a website could be simple to very complex depending on the nature of the website that one desires to have. It may just be the creation of a simple static page or the creation of very complex applications for businesses to offer the right solution to their online customers. Whatever the process is, it is the culmination of efforts put in by a lot of people.

You have the website designers who carefully craft the look and feel of the website and ensure that is is visually appealing and doesn't come in the way of a good user experience. Website development on the other hand, is to ensure that this visual representation is translated into a working website on the internet. Thus, it has to do more with the coding and structuring of the website.

A large website development company may have a lot of experienced people working on a single project at a time to build a fairly complex website. This is common occurrence. However small or mid-sized businesses do not have the capacity to have a lot of people working for them and they would usually outsource or hire just a few people to get the job done. At the end of the day, it is a collective effort from everybody to come up with a great looking website for the client.

With the increase in commercialization and the demand of people to look up businesses online, the demand for websites has also risen. It has become imperative for businesses to have a website and to offer answers for visitors who may have queries or concerns regarding your business. A website is a clear reflection of your business and one must be develop a website that matches the offline identity of your business.

There are a few tips to keep in mind while developing a website:

  1. Understanding the target audience: Let's assume that you are the owner of a business that provides health tips and diet to the older segment of the audience. If you want to have a website, most of them are going to be elder citizens who need to take care of themselves. Having a website with tiny font size is going to be very stressful for them to read, hence you must design your website with font big enough for them to read and follow.
  2. Very flashy over the top design: This is a territory that you should be running far from. Having a good design is different from having an outlandish design that looks like the project of a 3rd grader. Flashy design, neon colors that blind the eye and other jarring design elements project a very horrid image of a business.
  3. Clarity of vision: Try to understanding why you want a website. Just because the business next to you has a website does not mean that having one will solve your business problem by default. Your website should speak about your journey and what solution you are offering to your visitor. Having a clarity of your business before you design and develop a website will go a long way.
  4. Poor website content: We see content everywhere. It's on the TV, the newspaper, the billboards everywhere. Your website needs content too. That is how it attracts visitors. However having a great content is something that one should aim for. Having a poorly crafted content will not tug a visitor to take any conversion action that you were expecting of him. So invest your time in having some very good content for your website.
