System engineer can work in various forms like security systems engineer, who evaluates designs and tests system security to make sure integrity of systems and data or Computer systems engineer who designs and improves the hardware and software of computers to ensure they work efficiently. They are also known as lead system analysts or network engineers, and are responsible for the overall management of networks, development of hybrid software, web products, and hardware solutions. They may have to work with computer equipment, servers, devices and other types of hardware.

The engineer maybe required to manage the business cycle by producing cost-effective software, hardware and applications ranging from specification and design, to the coding, testing and maintenance of the agreed solution for the problem. The airplane engine manufacturers can move up the steps and make transitions to various other IT positions after gaining much knowledge and ability.

A system engineer is mainly responsible for handling specific customer needs, developing business operations, documenting specifications and finally, initiating design synthesis and system validation, to solve several systems related issues. Its market is ever increasing and many jobs are available in this field all around the world. This makes systems engineers to stand more chances for higher payments compared to other field.
