Ensure Your Training is Effective Is Trainee Response System
Posted: May 24, 2019
You may have already seen wide use of audience response systems in corporate events or meetings where large numbers of attendees are involved. Since they allow everyone to interact and share their opinions, they have become part of most events these days. But organizations use the real-time response systems in several other areas of business. By embracing real-time response technology, they are enjoying many benefits that this technology has on offer. Corporate training is one such area where these systems are being widely used. In common training, these real-time response systems are called trainee response system.
Trainee response systems drive training sessions towards an active and interactive learning environment. It ensures that your training is effective, and the trainees are not only able to learn quickly and efficiently but get back to work as quickly as possible. Organizations that have adopted these systems in their training sessions have benefitted immensely. In a typical setup you’d have clickers in the classroom or make use of mobile apps to record votes or feedback from the trainees in real-time. These are highly cost effective and easily affordable for small businesses too. Let us now take a look at some of the ways in which these systems can make corporate training more effective and productive.
- Increase Attentiveness in Training
Attentiveness is vital to the success of corporate training when lessons on new products, ideas and business models are being imparted during these sessions. One of the most obvious benefits of incorporating trainee response system in your training classes is increased attentiveness. While all your trainees would make their best efforts to keep their attention levels up, it is normal for these levels to drop as the session goes longer and trainees act as mere listeners. When too much of information is being fed to trainees without much of an opportunity to interact and share their opinions attention levels tend to drop. When this happens, effectiveness of the curriculum also comes down. By using a response system to record votes and opinions trainers can boost up attention levels quickly and easily.
- Increase Interactivity In Training
Not all trainees are the same. While some are expressive and don’t shy away from sharing their opinions in the public, others are shy to speak during group sessions. What a trainee response system does is increases interactivity in the classroom – even with those individuals who would normally stay quiet. A trainer can put up a poll at any time during the session, or have the trainees take a quiz at the end of every lesson and ask the trainees to vote. The results are displayed in real-time and this allows trainees to share their opinions with others and learn from each other whether they answered correctly or not. They may discuss and even argue over different opinions and this opens the session to everyone instead of a few extrovert trainees as is the case in traditional training sessions. This system further helps trainers collect critical evaluation data that may be compulsory for the company to provide to their regulatory agencies. The training response system can automatically provide an electronic record of all answers from every trainee to the company LMS system and evaluate them on a Pass/Fail basis in a matter of minutes, or hours.
- Integration of Presentation
Use of PowerPoint presentations or other similar tools is common these days in corporate training. This allows trainers to introduce complex topics to their attendees in a simpler manner and use the power of visualization to increase knowledge retention. A trainee response system can easily be integrated into your presentations to make them more effective. Trainers can have a question on a particular slide, ask the trainees to vote and the results are immediately updated in the presentation. This turns the standalone presentations into an interactive visual platform that can go a long way in improving knowledge retention among the trainees. They are also able to achieve better understanding of the subject matter that is being taught during these sessions.
