Selvaraghavan is back with a political film with Suriya starrer NGK and the film revolves around Nandha Gopala Kumaran's (NGK) rise to power among the ranks of his party. Rakul Preet Singh and Sai Pallavi are playing the female leads. Let’s see the story of NGK.

Story: NGK (Suriya) does Organic farming. He wants youngsters to come into politics but keeps taking advice from an elderly person, who looks like a caricature of MGR. Youngsters in his neighbourhood also join him and it upsets the local politicians. He understands that he needs to be in politics, and joins as an assistant to a local MLA (Ilavarasu) and climbs up the ladder and becomes a big threat to the head of his own political party. What happens next? How he faces several obstacles? Form the rest of the story.

Plus points:

  • Suriya
  • Direction
  • Story
  • Screenplay

Minus Points:

  • Dull interval bang

Performance: Suriya has delivered a solid and power packed performance. He has done complete justice to the role and viewers will be able to feel the intensity of his performance. He looks quite handsome as always. Rakul Preet Singh looks glamorous. She is a god on the screen. Sai Pallavi is ok. Devaraj as Killivalavan is fine. Bala Singh, Rajkumar, Nizhalgal Ravi, Uma Padmanabhan, Vela Ramamoorthy, Thalaivasal Vijay and Ilavarasu perform accordingly.

Technical: There are some highly emotional and intense sequences in the film. Some of the fight sequences are good. Cinematography is good. Songs have been shot colourfully. The screenplay is quite good in the first half. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s background score is decent. Coming on the work of director Selvaraghavan, he has succeeded in getting the intensity and the emotions right.

Analysis: Yuvan Shankar Raja's background score and Suriya's portrayal of NGK is astounding. NGK treats its women (Rakul Preet and Sai Pallavi) so well that among a group of henchmen, there are a few women who fight equally well. Overall NGK is a good entertaining political thriller drama.

Suriya, Rakul Preet Singh and Sai Pallavi starrer NKG are hitting the theatres on 31st May. Umair Sandhu, the Member of Censor Board, Movies Marketing & PR Expert has shared the first review of NGK on his Twitter. He tweeted, "Saw #NGK at Dubai Censor Board!
